Be confident, enjoy yerself, be original and most importantly no wen 2 shut up. Remember you're there 2 add 2 a dj's set not totally take over with rhyme after rhyme

i think the best way is to practise writin lyrics down like say u start with a word e.g beat - u will write a load of words down that rhyme with beat e.g
beat
street
heat
defeat
after a few you change word slightly e.g
town
down
sound
around
underground
and then agen e.g
blazin
amazin
phazin
then you have your start off list n ryhme to them as you have your ending words e.g:
kicking it down with a brand new beat
AC's spittin these lyrics fresh off da street
All my raver's in the place now i know your feelin' tha heat
Goin' to the top never admit defeat
Lyrical Bad Boy back in town
kick kick kickin it down
kickin it down with the bad boy sound
Got every one Jumpin all around
Fresh from the underground
Bass forever be blazin
Lyrics be dayum amazin
Cuz my raver hardcore is never phazin
Then you have your lyrics n after a while u will pick it up as they flow to the beats. then your boyfriend may find out that every now and agen the order they go in change as he feels more confident on the mic.
Hope this helps

Thanx for your advice ppl its well appreciated.
However note to Blasphemy why not bother? If new talent doesnt come onto the scene then Hardcore will die out so ppl like you need to butt out unless they have somthing good to say.

Because most Mc's r bad Mc's who wreck every tape they're on a lot of people generalise them all as crap. Personally i really appreciate a good mc and would only give encouragement 2 anyone wantin 2 do it but i can see why some people don't like them. And after all this is a discussion forum so what else r people sposed to do but voice they're opinion and it would b shit if we all felt the exact same way about everything.

spot on mate...i dont mind a good mc, but often hearing the same lyric over and over on tapes years apart and when they wreck a really good tune does my head in. Plus Mcing is more of a natural thing so if you're no good at it theres not a lot of point

well if no one gets a chance to show what they can do then how can you tell if their a bad MC. youve also got to consider the prospect of a bad set in the first place where you need someone to keep the people on the floor

it's the problem of our time - mcs are brilliant when you're actually out raving but downright annoying on tapes, especially when they're FAR TOO LOUD! surely they could route the mic through a different channel and just record the actual tunes for the tape pack???

you know that makes good sense. but in reality that could lead to getting hold of tracks and playin them out that were somewhat exclusive. Its like radio, the dj's always talk over something when you try to record it

i dont believe that. i think if you work hard enough you can make it. as long as you are serious about it.
