OK, lets just throw vinyls out of the window for a minute (no not literally Simon you monkey!!!!!)
Theres loads and loads of people now using CDJs and Final Scratch amongst other forms of digital mixing devices, so lets assume that Vinyl no longer existed for a minute...... how would you prefer to buy your tunes online?
a) Order a CD - a physical product with professional labels etc
b) In downloadable digital format for a lower price and you burn them to CD yourself within minutes of paying for it.
Maybe Silver or one of the Mods could turn this into a featured poll?
Cheers,
Matthew aka DJ Underloop

don't for get some downloads still take a while plus they might not be perfect condiction like clicks and stuff trust my mate has downloaded some tunes that are cut in stupid places and jump things like that so might as well just stick i vinyl i reckon that dj's that use cd are not as good becoz it's much easier to press the play button on a cd deck than it is to release a vinyl in time with the beat not like it hard but u get what i mean.

Well I was talking about a LEGAL download...... for instance Apple's iTunes. Not tunes ripped from mixes, or recorded from crackly vinyl, but proper digital copies released by the record labels

Personally im a hater of the whole digital - CD revelution things seem to be going thro at the mo. Maybe its cos old habits die hard but i appreciate vinyl mixin so much more than CD mixin. People say CD mixin sounds better - I say it sounds false.

Even though i'm not a DJ, that would be my answer. Got my first CD like 17 years ago, when i was 4. So i would just use what ive always used :) I have bought all my vinyls (well i only have like 20) just because i didnt find them in any CD...

Online order ofcourse, but only if it was in a lossless compression format.

I'd go with CD just because its a physcial product from the artist. Downloading just detracts from the personal feeling you get from buying a physcial product.
That is a very last resort. As long as I have vinyl it will never die.

You don't have to download mp3, in this case it would probably be .wav for high quality!

As long as the proper people were getting the money, I would most likely download and burn. Would have to be high quality of course.

Id rather buy it from the label, coz of the better sound quality (unless they were to use mp3's too, in which case this i'd rather download) :)

People who use cdjs are just as talented. Oli G for example who is a wicked dj uses CDJs only as far as I know and I guarntee he has had the same learning experience as everyone else. Also i have a cdj and its truly not as simple as just pressing the button i find it MUCH more difficult to hit the play button in time then to release a record in time. This is all just my opinion...except for Oli G's Mixes thats fact that they are good :-p
as for the original topic....I'd rather order a cd with labels and all
