Ive always prefferd vinyl but then i do have a cd deck too. Its just usefull to have as a lot of tunes i cant get on vinyl anymore or my own tunes i can play on cd. But i do prefer vinyl. Just the feel of it and the fact that you can actually see where the usic is coming from i guess.

there's things I like and dislike about vinyl, one thing I think which is wierd yet cool is the sound of Vinyl against CDs, I've told that when the vinyl is cut, if the outputs onto the plastic are overloaded, when you play it back, it will sound 'natrualy' compressed (compressed means, the dynamic range is squashed giving it a fat sound)
however, the bad thing is they lack good hi-treble unlike CDs. some people like the fact that vinyl has alot of treble loss and say "hey I like the sound, it's warm" etc etc.... mostly the proffensional snobs say those things.

i know what you mean. as i said i stareted with PCDJ, but it took no time to master because the system would automaticvally match the speeds. But with vinyl ("virus i hope its spelt right") its like something you have to play with, and its something you do continuously. I could sit and wait or a song to finish with mp3 without any activity.. with vinyl i have to get it perfect meaning i have to continuously do summet

I prefer vinyl. You get more control when beat matching, BUT I do love the flexibility of having a CD player to hand to use as a sampler and to drop promos etc..... plus my CD player has lots of nice effects on it
TBH, I love both

Hell (is here, lol) all is good but when mixin you want the control of Vinyl... with cds, mds, mp3s etc you dont have that control. but when im broadcasting i use all cos theres no need for such control cos all your doing is sendin out a specific tune...

I don't think anything bad of mixing with cds but I do prefer vinyl. More fun IMO. Also there's something unique about a record that doesn't apply to cds because they are so easily reproduced. I'll embrace the cdj at some point but for now I prefer the touch and sound of vinyl

viynl will be around forever... cd's however might not be... tapes are going and minidisks never got off.. mp3's will make way for .... mp9's...
The only thing that will remain the same is viynl because the demand is so great.

I like vinyl better. CD's are stupid because most people who say they mix with them only download the songs and burn them to CD, obviously ripping off so many people. It pisses me off. Vinyl is the only way to show you actually own the tune. I only like CD's for promos of songs to play.

CDs are so fake sounding IMO. Vinyl has a sound as someone said that just cant be beaten

DJing: Vinyl... I like the feel of it... the smell of it... the weight of it... And the fact I am buying something limited that isn't a piece of 1 cent plastic.
Promo's: CD's, they are cheap and easier than a dubplate.

as for quality, vinyl only crackels if its been pressed poorly or has been damaged..besides that there's no noticeble difference, but vinyl for me, its not just the vinyl, its the decks, its the whole unit as one(ahem)
i'll say again, as long as the vinyl has nothing wrong with it then theres no noticeble sound difference..
cd mixing is just for gadget freaks

vinyl forever i will never change to cd don't like the feel of it I like to man handle my records and I feel I have more control over vinyl. Would'nt mind having a 3rd deck as a cd for all those tunes i can't find on vinyl but it would have to have a jog wheel.
