May sound a stupid question...... but when your beatmatching do you people tend to acute your ear to the bass....or the treble?

I tend to use bass, but when it goes into a breakdown sometimes theres a bit of treble still in it, and wen building up theres treble, so i usually cue my 2nd song up in the build up and bring it in at the peak of the build up?? if that makes ne sense to you?

I have been djing for about id say 7months pushing it......played out 4 times, can beat match....although its touch and go wether its perfect.....rarely do a mix where i can jst leave it i always have to alter it (Might be cos i use Soundlab DLP-3R decks lol) there flogged an about 5years old....need new ones jus the cash aint to good....specially when your statement from the bank comes through saying you have £0.29 in your bank lol

Ah well..........schools over soon! :D

tommyrenegade:Well i just mix the way i mix...Thats how i learned..Tbh somehow i like ruff mixes sometimes..I'll post a mix up when i get my PC fixed..When i touch my record to spin it up its hardly noticeable anyway as it is tiny slight adjustments..Somehow i do it to much i think and always think the record is going faster or slower when its not lol...I think thats from learning :

I dont use either, just the beat cuz the bassline and the breaks are all in 4/4.

you will obtain a real feeling/ear for the music and will be able to even cue up with strings and piano intro rather than the kick drum!

I did a really top mix at a rave started on Product of Society - Force and Styles new age mix and mixed in Guiding light from the beginning! all those strings and piano... it REALLY worked well and even the MC came over a gave me praise for it cus he knew the choonz...

sounds like a sweet mix man.

I'm still training my ears to identifiy which is faster and what to do. ITs a mess in my head.

Touch the record or spindle if you're not a clutsy oaf like me

But if you are, the pitch shifter is amazing for little tweaks.
