Hard Dance would be a better name - Techno is a genre within dance music. any chris liberator fan would tell you that.

if you dont think techno is its own genre then you still have a lil bit of learning left to do.
even ebay lists "techno" under Dance's Subgenre's. granted techno was used as a blanket term for electronic music in the 80's and the start of the 90's, but by the time 95 had swung in, it had been dropped and adopted/slipped back to its industrial/experimental underground roots, techno still remains a largely underground genre, with aspects of it blinking through in a few genre's mainly gabber and freeform at the moment
and on that point, one might wonder over to the happyhardcore.com vinylstore - where there is a most wonderful collection of techno vinyls for sale! notice - when you click on the link that say's "Techno/Gabber", that only techno records and gabber records show...Not every single piece of electronic music in the store....thats because the correct way to use the term "techno" is when refering to the genre of "techno"...and shouldnt be used when refering to all dance. thus avoiding confusion.
but anyway ive written enough on that, and i cant be arsed to argue anymore, simply because im sure the scene is to some degree split on the subject - i know that alot of america still refer to everything that is electronic as "Techno" and at this time in the morning i cant be arsed to take on an entire continent.

i sat there wondering what you ment for a second lol..
i think trance is a tricky one. i dont think ive heard too many people refering to all dance music as "trance", ive heard people refering to the music off the "clubland" cd's...which...well come on, anybody who remembers 1999 knows that the stuff on clubland aint real trance ;)

Guess its only here then :) "Newbies" to electronic music call everything Trance. Its like uhm, they dont really know what trance means, so they call everything trance (mainly the "mainstream" dance tunes).

Gouryella -Gouryella.
Now there's a tune, it reminds me the Ibiza Terrace; and the Red-Blue-Orange sunset, even though i've only ever see pictures of Ibiza.
That and RED5 - Lift me Up, SnakeCharmer, and System F - Out of the Blue.
Not forgetting XXX Live - Piano Thing, which was played at the sundance festival over there.
