So Ive got a wedding coming up .. umm.. In July 2005.. ok so its far away.. but im excited about it right? heh.

Clearly seeing as how im posting to this website Im a hardcore fan. My fiance.. well ... I guess she tolerates some of it, but shes not into electronic music.. and honestly I frikin hate her music. Which of course makes me a jerk because I HATE the sound of a guitar and she plays guitar.. ..and she owns 3. I only like electronica. heh. moving on..

So the wedding reception will be a blend of our contrasting music styles, and I was wondering what hardcore songs you guys would suggest for a wedding. Im looking for Hardcore songs which are upbeat, very dance-able, and that you dont have to be a diehard hardcore fan to enjoy.

for example.. "Everytime i close my eyes" and "ill fly with you" mixed by scott brown and "Way" by divine inspiration

songs like that I think woudl be well suited for my wedding.

What would you recommend?

Have any of you had hardcore experiences at a wedding?

I think a typical 'wedding dj' will know jack about hardcore.. what cds should I get and give to him/her?

Rember.. this isn't a rave or a club.. its a wedding... hardcore will be played shortly after romancy slow dance songs.. this is gonna be interesting...

and its HER day.... its my day to, and im the one with the crazy dancing antics...im one of those who gets people watching them in a circle types... so there WILL be hardcore at the wedding.. but not too much that would get on her nerves right? shes the bride afterall

I like your style - hardcore at your wedding! Very bold, but quite right if you're a fan!

I would go for something happy, cheesy and not too hard - Dougal's mix on Bonkers 3 immediately springs to mind. It's not hard at all, but brilliant all the same - perfectly suitable for the occation (all lovey-dovey). I guess that's maybe a bit too old tho if you're into the new scene. Play something along that lines anyway.

I hope the day goes well and that you manage to get a few new people into the scene!

Contraption - Higher forever (B&S remix)
and maybe the B&S remix of torn...

...good luck!

EDIT: Oh... absolutly the Scott Brown remix of Bring me round to love! A must at every wedding!

Everytime I close my eyes & Love of my life would both be good and maybe:
Eyeopener,
Come together,
You're my angel,
I adore,
Heart of gold,
All I want,

Infact there is loads of luvy dovey hardcore tracks and hardcore is always good to dance too so there is plenty to choose from don't play it too fast though think of all people in their high heels.

first of all; many congrats that ur deciding to tie the knot. best of luck to ya both.

second of all, what about something that has nice slow bits in the middle; and considerin ur significant other likes a bit of guitar, how about the remix of "Torn".

It was the normal pop tune that went hardcore style; not sure who made it though. i'm sure one of my esteemed colleagues would be happy to fill in the blanks because i am notoriously poor when it comes to naming artists.

i do have it though so i'll check it out and get back to this topic to either post it myself or see if someone else has.

congrats again btw

I've played Hardcore loads of times at Wedding/Engagement parties etc and generally it tends to go down quite well.

I always stick to the more commercial side of things - particularly hardcore tunes that are well known because of the more commercial remixes.

Most people tend not to care too much about what they're dancing to when they're bollocksed - although i wasn't too popular on one occasion when i played the Speedfreak mix of 'Abba gabba' by Riot nation!!

-----------------------------

Arguably one of the best

it may not be the best hardcore tune, but it will be more tolerable for the guests and the bride that aren't into hardcore.

he's going for compromise here, not punishment by nothing but hardcore for them all.

solid hardcore may something that you would loike to hear at a wedding for a day, but just coz you would doesn't mean that you can't think of other people.

if you actually notice what he said, he doesn't want to get on his bride to be's nerves.

before you discard an idea, think about the situation at which it is to be played; it may go down quite well as a softer alternative!

Always remember; you are unique, just like everyone else

Playing hardcore = playing hardcore/hardcore remixes of tracks. clear now?

if they want it he can still play the normal version. nothin stopping him.
anything else?
