Who thinks because of the comercialisation of hardcore its slowing it down??
Because i've heard hardcore at 220, thats hardcore not gabba.
"love you tonight" ......ahhh my fav tune ATMO, sounds better at 220 bpm, i've tryed it.
Really distorts those sexy vocals.
But i have'nt tryed it with anything descent because i have'nt got winamp.
=================================================
You can get a Gabba/Rotterdam sound from including every 2nd 16th note @ 170 bpm.

Over the years since it's beginning hardcore has got faster and the average speed of tracks is in no way showing any sign of slowing down.

Uhm, almoust all Hardcore records are pressed with the same BPM, its the DJ who desides how fast hes going to play them.

Erm....
yes.
You seem to be implying that the pressing plant decides the BPM,
which i'm affraid is untrue.
The drum machine/sequencer, which is controled by the Producer.
Then the Producer decides on the BPM of the song itself.
Then a cutting plate is made by a laser in a peice of metal.
The cutting plate cuts the vinyl is a mass-productive scale.

Hardcore is much too fast for me - i prefer to slow it down to 135BPM and put it in trance sets!
Blackcrow - if you're going to start a new topic, at least have a valid point.
There are some slower tracks out there but the majority are the same speed or faster than the stuff that was around a few years ago.
220 BPM is a stupid speed to play a 170-180 BPM track at.

Arguably one of the best

in general, yeah, hardcore has been slowing down a bit. gone are the days where +8 on a tech 12 equalled high 180s, low 190s.
its just the direction the genre's been moving. not much anybody can do about it. *shrug*

It's slowing down a little I must admit, but if it's too slow pitch it.. you got +16 if you double pitch your decks or have MK5's.
