Do you have to choose between your partner and raving? Do you argue about the fact that you love raving and s/he doesn't? Have you broken up because of this, or have you given up going out to please your partner? We are running a feature on this issue - if you have a personal story you'd be able to share with us, please email [email protected] or [email protected] and let us know! Help out fellow ravers if you have come up with a solution, or just share your raving difficulties with the online ravers. We won't publish your name if you want to keep things confidential!
Thanks! - Jenny Bornhardcore

I don't know, what are things like in Canada? Can you get acid that easily? Do you normally surf forums when you're tripping?!
No, but seriously, I want to find out how many people give up raving because of their partners - I've had at least two good friends give up going out because their partners hated them going to raves/clubs - it's a sad sad situation.

pfft that's stupid, you shouldn't have to change/give up who you are just because you're dating someone that doesn't like what you enjoy doing.
i could understand if all they do is go out and get f*cked up constantly or have a child.

lmao... *wipes eyes* I hope there is no one in this world that would give up a good night with their partner for raving, if so our values just flew out the roof.

i once told a guy,
"don't make me choose between you, and my raving...
because your not going to like my choice ..."
Needless to say, i left his ass years ago.

In my experience there are simple patterns, told from the males perspective.
Man likes rave.
Meets girl who doesn't.
Man under the thumb, stops raving.
Man loses mates, become reliant on other half for friendship. Man is always stressed.
Man is never completely happy again...
Man likes rave.
Meets girl who doesn't.
Girl wants to change man into man who doesn't rave.
Man doesn't change, sooner or later relationship ends.
Man likes rave.
Meets girl who does too.
Both live happily ever after!
...although there may be raver partner swapping in the future...
Man likes rave.
Hasn't met right girl who does yet.
Enjoys single life in the meantime!
That be me...

problem with meeting people at raves is the drugs, you gotta make sure its not just getting messy that you have in common, cos it lasts 2 months and then you feel horible because ur gf turns out to be a man..

*sits in a corner, pointing and giggling* I don't HAVE to choose!!
In English class I checked that I was "torn between two cultures" and when I was asked which two... I replied,
"American and International Hardcore"
and they thought I was talking about porn.
Then again, in a family full of guitar freaks I would say I'm torn between two cultures, wouldn't you? :D
But yes, it's beyond disgusting when your partner won't rave with you, especially when they associate the word "rave" with drugs or "rant and". :\ In my opinion, choice of music contributes greatly to one's lifestyle, and opression against such could change someone forever.
