Underloop, that is probably the best answers I have had from a christian, all others just shy away. Although I agree with the logic behind your belief and how things that happen on earth can be interpreted as religious symbols, i.e flash flooding can be 'god punishing' people for sinning, but then what happened to forgiving people for there sins? I honestly would love to have belief in a higher being looking over me but I cannot pretend to 'see' something that cannot be believed by me. Also I see things that people to be signs from god that are just crazy. There is some toast which has the 'face of mary' on it and someone bought it on ebay for £500+ because it is believed to be from 'god' and it just shocks me how 'stupid' some people can be, I mean for f**ks sake it is toast, if god wanted to send a sign I am sure that he can be a little more extravagent then using toast. (sorry had to use for f**ks sake as I did not think it appropriate to use the only other words that would fit: God, Christ and Heaven!!)

Emmy: Churches are scary because they contain vicars and priests (or are they they same?)

Whispering: Why are suicide bombers at war? Religion

The word we're all looking for is "extremists" Particularly "Religious Extremists"...Those are the people ruining the name of their religions. When people think of islam, they think "Suicide bombers" and shit like that. And of course Christians are stuck with those dumb ass crusades of theirs.

Its all about extremes...People are turned off by one tiny inccedent and they never give any cool headed normal people a chance to explain their story to them. Im sure this has already been said, but just throwing down my 2 cents. Im also a Hardcore listening christian, and the only reason i would listen to christian hardcore is if it was exactly the same lol! Why do they need to change anything to make it christian? IMO, the only hardcore songs that can be classified as non-christian are the ones where the talk about drugs and stuff like that...Not that christians never do these things, but i hope they wouldnt promote it lol. haha. how can you say a song with no words is christian or non-christian??? Can some one answer that please....Because i seriously want to know.

Before you read this, just know that I can't stand those that "push" their beliefs on anyone. I'm a hardcore kid through and through, and I love dj'ing and producing, however, I wanted to give you some background into a deeper side of me, which I've never talked about with anyone in the scene until now.

Just read it if you're interested in what I have to say, if not that's okay, please don't flame me.

ARgh, sorry for the 4 posts in a row, but I forgot the link to the document.

hey im not a Christian (i'm also new to this bord - hi everyone!!) but i did study religion for A-level - and there are some really interesting points here... but you need to consider these things as well...

when you say:
"How can nothing in the bible be proved but science can?"

consider this, science cant be proved, science is pure theory based on human experience! for example, we know from experience that water boils at 100 degrees... but if someone experiences a scientific theory differently, then all theory prior to that is proven wrong.

For example, at one point it was a scientific theory that the world was flat. When finally someone experinced the contrary - the scientific theory changed. So you can see how science can be compared to theories in the Bible - both are only ideas.

secondly, when you say:
"if god is real. then why is there so much suffering... "
Well some people claim that God created us as beings with free will rather than as puppets which would be totally good and under his control. It is a result of this free will which brings evil onto our planet. It is our own actions which do this - not the Christian Gods.

aaanyway... as for Christian music, it pretty much sucks! But then there's a lot of sucky pop music out there too! So its pretty forgiveable. At least there's an attempt being made to reach a new generation.

This topic should be locked. All we are going to do is argue.

As for the christian, and I include myself: its not worth it. Arguing/trolling/flaming and bickering about the proof of Christianity is not worth it over the internet. No-one is going to be saved, infact you will probably help someone become even more bitter to the gospel. Ask yourself, what did jesus do? He went to the people and talked to them in person

I've learnt the hard way, I dont want you guys to experience the same.

wow.... alot of wickd points ou tthere... i have jus 33things to say, which are my opinions to the most talked about points...
1) HOW DO WE KNOW GOD EXISTS? Religion is faith... to know and have evidence ie seeing god would prove his human form therefore making him ungodly... hence why no one ever saw GOD just jesus as god beieved people needed to see his human form... and how did that end?with him being perseuted...basically the whole point of a religion is to have a belief..

2)WHY DOES BAD STUFF HAPPEN?because we ewre created to be an image of god but given free will therefore enabling us to make choices... what would be the point in everyone being a christian because they felt they had too...it makes no sense...

3)HOW THE WORLD STARTED?well ok all the scientific big bang theorys make sense,...but who put all the chemicals there in the first place??

*only a little ladies opinion*

just because someone believes in the big bang theory, doesn't mean they're an athiest.

I am against all religion, but I would not call myself an athiest, that would imply that I am part of some of group.
