Well, I've been deciding and finally came to a decision. I am taking a break from hardcore. I have been taking small breaks for so long and they seemed to help just a little and only for a couple months.
What people don't realize is that when you go pretty deep into the scene, it's nothing but ugly fights, qualms, and grudges. It's something I've been ignoring for quite a long time and tried to settle with it. But I've finally realized, I'm not in it for what I used to be. I used to love the music. I used to be excited when new records came stateside at Phusion. The music used to take me away.. but now it just takes me to how the scene is deep down. And that's not free.
I will no longer be moderator, I will no longer do live shows, and I will no longer DJ for the time being. I've noticed that most of the best people in hardcore have retired. And for the reasons I feel as well. I'm not saying I'm one of the "best" people in hardcore, I'm just saying that I have a ton of respect for what they've done and why. I'm not retiring though. So if people see me doing mixes and songs don't be an ******* and go, "See? He comes back when the scene is getting big." You honestly cannot compare me to others that have just decided to stop forever.
I won't be coming around these forums as often as I used to anymore because that is the source of my feeling this hate. And I shouldn't hate anyone. That's the problem. Forums are a bad thing and I learned that now.. Some peoples ugly attitudes made me ask myself the question, "Why am I doing this for so many ungrateful people?"
I'm not going to say what I'll be doing in the meantime apart from this because I know how much hate is directed towards it. I want to feel good about what I'm doing. I don't want to hate it. I'll still be taking bookings, though. That's one thing I do not mind.

:( i'm sorry it came down to this. i had to take a break from painting for a while, a whole year, but i feel better about it now. i hope you will too. do something nice in the meantime, treat yourself. i hope you feel better, nobody should ever have to feel crappy doing what they love.

I honestly cannot explain. It's something you have to experience. It's something that is said by a few people and the rest just think they're ranting and being ill-mannered. If you go in deep enough, you will see what I'm talking about. But since you aren't, I can't say anything that will give you an idea.
You don't have to stop liking me because of this. My mixes will still be the same and I will most likely be sending in more to DI as I always do. I would rather do this and end up loving the music more than staying how I've been and not having and feeling for it. It's really pointless to say the least.

no way man... but if you feel like that then i think you're doing the right thing. there aint no point in doing something you love if it rips you apart... it sorta eliminates the point.

i guess what u need is a good session of producing.
i remember when i was djing at 14-16 then i took a break and started to produce only for around 16-now 18.5
and just like 6 months ago i started to mix again but hardcore now and not trance/house

I understand where you are coimg from, I was once there although I've never DJ'd but I know what you're refering to and you guys get it the worst. You really don't have to explain yourself to anyone, only you know what is best for you. You'll have the respect regardless of what you do. You're mixes will be missed!! You're an awesome DJ. i have to say that i cannot and wont pretend to understand anything about the hatred etc u speak of...im far to new to the scene for that.
all i can say to someone i dont even know is that : i spent a long time listning to mainstream dance,and couldnt understand why i wasnt getting into it as much as my friends...it took my first 3 'hardcore' downloads to realise it was this that im into...jst thot ad say somethin coz urs was the one of the 3 i got.
am kinda jst tryin to say that a recon ur crackin and shouldnt become a stranger too long

I'm not cracking. I've been feeling this way for the past year. I just have finally made a decision about it. I understand most of you will be angry or won't understand why I'm doing this, but I also understand that some of you will back me up.

people should have the right to chill out or leave any scene at any given time, as long as they dont got a contract they can't terminate that easy
