what im about to say has probably all been said....but im high as fuk so i dont care! :)
But whenever somebody hears my tunes (that dont listen to and have no idea about Happy Hardcore) thay ask me what it is. When i turn around and say its Happy Hardcore they look at me and straight away i can tell that they are thinking of the old school stuff from like the early 90's. But if they was to hear Happy Hardcore of the 2000's and all the new stuff, they would probably think it was a different genre, or maybe a subgenre of Happy Hardcore. I think that the Happy Hardcore of these times should just be called Hardcore.
That maybe a controversial thing to say...?
I think that Hardcore sounds fat and maybe more serious and for lack of a better word more Hardcore then Happy Hardcore?
But please no one get me wrong...there is nothing atall wrong with Old School.
A dno if any of the above will make any sense....haha

Erm...I don't think it'd be good to call Happy Hardcore just Hardcore because there's the Punk/Emo/Indie Hardcore and that could possibly cause some confussion.

I pretty much lump everything under the "hardcore" moniker. I usually refer to the overly cheesy fairground stuff from the mid 90's as "happy hardcore".

I do the same thing. I lump everything from gabber to cheez under hardcore but I call the cheesy sounding stuff from now happy hardcore

happy hardcore is awsome.....
i woudl label it as tracks that have really cheesy piano tunes in them.... liek the remix of toy town (noddy and big ears mix i think)

Perhaps instead of renaming our music genre you should jus laugh in the face of people that dont know what it is...
...because life without happy hardcore is quite funny - and sucks.

I call the new stuff, 2000 onwards New Style Hardcore and the old stuff Happy Hardcore. I don't think it really is Happy Hardcore anymore, the style has evolved. The old Happy Hardcore was an evolution of Acid House, just as New Style Hardcore is an evolution of Trance & Happy Hardcore. I don't know what to call it.

i tend to call old school stuff happy hardcore and new scholl stuff hardcore. i reckon hardcore has a nice ring to it, sounds more serious!

im the same, i try not 2 label different types/ages of hardcore, i just call it hardcore.
