Why is hardhouse considered so hard? You hear Lisa Lashes etc and all that hardhouse crew go on about how hard they play.. Have they ever heard of Gabber or Hardcore? Hardhouse to me seems pretty soft ass!! I don't mind softer dance like Eurodance, Trance and House etc.. But can't stand how you hear Hardhouse and Hardstyle djs go on like their music is for the really hard music fan when it's not.. Sounds pretty midway if you ask me.. Think they should stick to the name Hardhouse..

i think they may have felt that the name "A little harder than normal house music" was a little too long

lol...........yer i do agree but it is hard to them innit but coz were used to hcore we see everything else as midway etc

hard because its harder than normal house..
its comparably soft compared to hardstyle or gabber though

Hardhouse is reviewed under the harddance section in mixmag so it must be considerd the same thing.. I'd love to hear one of these so called harddance djs play a set next to someone like Scott Brown or Paul Elstac and then they'll no the meaning of hard.. Would make so called harddance sound like chillout.. Meanwhile think they should rename the genre "club dance" hehe..

If Hard House was as hard as Hardcore then it would no longer be Hard House it would be Hardcore.

Hardstyle is hard, maybe not as hard as Gabba, but its still Hard. Hardstyle is the hardest form of Hard Dance and then it would be Schranz Techno.

hard trance might not be hard but it's definately harder than trance.
whys hardcore called hardcore? it's not hard to the core, its hard on the outside and cheese on the inside lol.
who cares what genre's are named what? hard dance is harder than normal dance music. might not be as hard as gabber but if we split music up into so many genre's it'd be hard to get peopole to recognise the scene.
at least with the majority of hard trance, hard house, hardcore being classed as hard dance it means new comers will get a taste of everything when they look under hard dance and maybe discover hardcore... and more hardcore lovers can't be a bad thing, right?

I dont know "Schranz Techno", but I agree that hard style is very hard.
Its funny though, because you try and speed it up to make it harder, and it kinda looses its edge, same with hard trance.

The bet way to think about it is by hard in dance music they usually just mean faster not actually harder at all.
