Hola.
In 8 days (25th of june) im going to London alone, by myself. So I was wondering if any brit guys here could give me some tips on what to watch, what to check out, IF ITS GOING TO RAIN, and such.
Im really concerned about crime and thieves. My friend went to london about 2 weeks ago with his class from school, and what happened is:
- first, thieves took all his stuff (digi cam, personal documents, money, passport) out of his pocket and bag, he noticed that when it was all over.
- when they returned to the hotel, all rooms were busted, only few clothes were left.
So they had to be there for 1 week longer, so he got his visa (or whats the document to leave the country). Total dissaster.

Really u just have to be more vigilant and more aware of who's around you! keep your bags or wot ever close to you, stay where there us alot of people but not to close to get pick pocketed! you should be fine! dont worry about it have a laugh!
I could prob put ma life on the line n say that it most defo will rain when your there! lol

Find out about all the areas where you should not go. Dont go out at night. Watch for the taxi drivers, they will probably try to run over you. And the main thing, the water taps are the worst in the world, only burning hot or freezing cold water, for some unknown reason they dont use water mixers o_O
Those are some of the things my brother said while he was there.

Hey, it's not THAT bad
Rain is inevitable. It's a thing over here called "Sods law" but you might be alright.
Don't be too concerned about crime. Sure it's rife but not as bad as everyone makes out. I've never had any problems (but then again I'm a huge mofo). If you're out at night, make sure you're with someone just to be on the safe side.
As a precaution keep your wallet etc. in either your front trouser pockets or your inside jacket pockets (if you have any), as there are some pick-pockets but I've never come across anyone who's been struck by one yet.
Also try to avoid any seedy areas and back-streets as this is where you're most likely to run into any problems.
There are some miserable gits about but most people are quite helpful. If you're lost or looking for something just ask!
As for what to watch and check out, there's LOADS of stuff. London is a big place as well and it's quite easy to get lost. If you've got any particular interests let me know and I'll try and point you in the right direction.
In the meanwhile, try http://www.a-london-guide.co.uk/ which is the virtual london website. Great for tourists.
London is a great place really! You'll have a great time.

Rite, and I guess I am to pay their plane ticket and hotel as well eh? :D
Some other time, I guess.
Well, I plan to have that little bag that comes around like a belt, to have documents and money infront of me, and digi in my hand or around my neck in "cam-bag". They can have the food and drink that will be in my big bag ^^

Hujimafuja, tnx for this big heads up. I know, Im thinking myself "god like all mofos there are just waiting me to get there.. yea rite".
I heard yea, that brits are nice ppl, especialy if you ask politely (spelling?). I've read if you go like "may I please.." or something in this matter then ppl there well probably let you take what you want (lol)
As for the view points, I really dun know what to check, uter then BigBang, that ferris wheel next to it, some shops WITH CDs!! (any tips where to find such?:) ), I also heard that chocolate there is just absolutely delicious. (my mom brought back some chocolate from chocolate factory she visited last year mmm).

No worries! You can't miss the ferris wheel (London Eye) and Big Ben is easy to find as well.
For CD's etc. there's plenty of music shops both large and small and many record shops as well so you can top up your hardcore while you're over I do believe there's a Tower Records in Picadilly Circus which is a good place to start. Trust me, you'll have no problems getting CD's!
Chocolate? I didn't think our chocolate was anything special but there are millions of places to buy some from. If you're planning on seeing more of England at any time then the Cadbury chocolate factory is the best place to go, but it's a long way from London!
By the way, you don't have to be THAT polite when asking questions

Try not to look too much like a tourist, everybody takes adavantage of an outsider. Hardcore cds are everywhere, HMV, virgin, asda...
Vinyls are harder to track down, do some research first and you'll be fine.
