I know there's an identical thread on USH about this started by Urban but I thought I'd raise the same point here. This is the MOH 18 artwork:
Looks pretty damn mint doesn't it?
What's everybody's views on hardcore album artwork? Do you prefer the more cartoony/cheesey type a-la Bonkers etc. or do you prefer something more...erm... grown up like MOH, and the Scott Brown albums (I absolutely adore the X: cover)
Basically I guess what I'm asking is: If it was down to you, how would you like to see hardcore marketed? Now that it's ditched the cheesier/happier side of things and it's attracting new people to the scene do you think that it should be presented as something more grown up? or aimed at the younger end of the market? or even a combination of the two?
I feel that we should keep the cartoony albums like the Bonkers series as they are but there should be more albums that are sort of targeted at the elder raver (like me) because I was embarrased as hell when I bought the Ultimate Happy Hardcore collection last year! Those of you that have seen it /own it know where I'm coming from......

Some of the Gabber artwork is absolutely mindblowing, i would love to see some hardcore albums/vinyl with artwork like that.
Imo the bonkers artwork is absolutely horrid.

Not too keen on the top one Dave, but the other two I really like!
In your opinion what uk hardcore album has the best looking cover? I'd be inclined to go for X or maybe Hardcore Heaven 1 or 2 (the ones from about 10 years ago that is)

I agree with Dave, some of the Gabba artwork is excellent, the vinyl covers on most of the one's I own are really f*king good.
I've noticed alot of Drum & Bass covers are pretty nice, some of the old Dreamscape CD's are good too, and the new Raver Baby vinyl artwork is amazing.
I think hardcore should ditch the cartoony album covers if it want's to be taken seriously.

Yea dont like the cartoonish covers myself either.
Couldnt really find a "good enough" hardcore cover from my collection, to be worth posting. But out of all my CD's, Ayu Trance's cover is my favourite. Nothing special, but i like the colors ->
