For Christmas I got Attatude/ World War 1 by Hixxy and Lady Trixxy off Essential Platinum which dates to 1996. Really good stuff, great kickdrum beats so I was wondering what Hardcore might sound like in 2006

Will it sound like 2005?
2001
1996 (I wish)
1990

Or will it be better (or worse) than we could ever imagine?

I think it would end up sounding the same as this year's hardcore but slower and more donks in each track lol

old skool influences are obviously on the rise which is wkd BRING BK MORE HOOVERS.

freeform is fantastic at the minuite an im sure it will continue to surprise me...especially the finnish freeform.

gabba....well i love this genre more and more the more i hear the more i want especially the industrial stuff....mmmmm tasty

I pray it will see innovation, musicality and layering return to the "popular" sound. There's a lot of variety and an insane wealth of talent in the modern scene, so let's see some evidence of this presented to the less informed scene members?

I'm both wildly optimistic and deeply concerned about 2006. It's all in the hands of the top tier DJs and promoters........

It is very probable that we will be hearing alot of breakbeat in 2006. However, the question must be asked, will it be more influential and popular than times before?

No.

If you consider that most hardcore upto 96ish was breaks then not a chance in hell

I just hope old skool is never forgotern, and that gabba doesn't take over.

i think that freeform will start evolvin into its own and move away from uk hardcore!!
by the end of 2006 freeform will start having their own raves or move to hard dance raves like bionic and wildchild!!
also i think hardcore will become less vocal and more and more tracks will be about the melody like tunes like a new feeling and enjoy the silence!!! and i think there will be more tunes like make some noise and xtreme and drop zone! tunes like that with the hard drivin beats and the trancy breakdowns are definately the way forward for uk hardcore!!!
and i think gabba will become more and more popular and start creepin into the main rooms more and more!!!

Love Garden would be perfect on a chillout album, not hardcore but Styles and Breeze's electric has some harder beats to it than most of their hardcore does

It would be very welcome, I think Warehouse Wax have alot to do with the comeback of breakbeat hardcore or 'rave'

It's always been popular which is why parets of Hardcore went into Jungle and Drum and Bass
