No one knows where the name hardcore came from.
Imagine something like this.
a guy sits up all night, high on xtc and whatever, making music. in the morning his friend comes over and listens to what he did and exclaims "That's Hardcore!"
And thus the name was born.

It was probably something like this, but noone knows.

Hardcore wasn't invented. It evolved. Just like any other music-genre. There is no definite person who first came up with hardcore, cause there's no definite definition of hardcore. If there was, all songs would sound the same.

Hmmm, working along similar lines:

Thrash Metal = spanking
Death Metal = snuff
Trance = Hypnothetishism
The Hamster Dance = .... lets not go there!
