Bit of a long shot but i thought i'd ask anyway....
My 21st birthday is coming up (May 5th) and my parents have decided to rent me out some place to have some sort of bash one day. I can't be arsed with them having some crappy DJ playing some crappy shit n thought itd be an idea to ask on here for anyones assisstance...
As i said, im guessing its a bit of a long shot, but if anyone fancies doing a spot of DJ'ing for me on me birthday that would be pretty damn sexual!
I would do it myself but - 1. Its MY birthday. 2. I don't have the right kit. 3. I don't know how.
Jus wanna see if anyone could possibly do it n then ill start blastin out all the other details.

gd stuff mate i might try pop up see you lot, i've never played out and am still pretty shit plus only have equipment for dj'ing in a bedroom and no transport.
So theres a few real downers on that but if you could sort out equipment i'd be happy to bring a shitload of vinyl in diff styles and would be up for doing a set for you mate, i'm still a bit ropey but havin a date that i have to play on would make me get my finger out my arse, spend less time chinwagging on the net and more time practicing. Infact it's exactly what i need, a non serious gig to try and get me used to playin out.
I no glens got decks so you'd just really need speakers and a monitor, you should look into hiring them mate or when your asking around halls find out if they have anything suitable.
Wont be offended if you get a better offer cos as you see mine aint exactly all that, but i can get you bouncin to allsorta dutch and spanish madness aswell as the sorta uk you lot already have. Also got trance and old remember/italian but they'd probs be too slow for your party.
Anyway mate as i said eqipments my only problem and i dont want any cash and will even travel up sunny blackpool, make a wee holiday of it.

Baldo mate, I know exactly what you're on about with pulling the ol' finger out. Tbh I've been too busy to get on them with exams and work and whatnot. Also, theres not much thats motivating me atm. I mean I'm really liking all of the new freeform from Sharkey and co. but it seems to takeyonks before a tunes released and then im not so interested in it y'know. I seem to be mixin older 'classic' trance likes of lizard, gamemaster, mystery land etc. Pretty darn easy to mix compared to spanish or freeform I have to say!

Aye mate between work, study, tryin to get fit and have a social life is hard to become pastis + buenri overnight  , is still my main hobby though just i aint made enough time for it to improve too quickly. Still is defo getting there i think a date where i had to play at a party would give me the kick up my arse i need to really break through the barrier.
I also no what you mean about classic trance and for me aswell classic dutch rave, needin to move out cos my gabba sets dont seem to be taken too well by the resta my house  hehe they'll learn.
But no just do whatever you enjoy on the decks mate i've recently been getting very bored of makina and a lotta the new upfront sound, dont get me wrong brought me many happy years and i'm not complaining i just can hardly ever be arsed to mix it.
It's happened before if i leave them for a month or so then go bck i'll love them again it's just a bored thing you no how it is mate.
But aye dunno about you but i love my collection now i've had them a couple years, got allsorts from ultracheese through to terror then bck to mellow trance. Defo helps keep up interest to have different things to mix.

Just an idea...Since many of us DJ's on the forum are from other parts of the world, maybe some of us could record a special birthday mix for you and send you the CD's to play at your party.
Of course, I would be happy to rock the party if you could cover my airfare to the UK.

Hell yeah mate im alrite just now just not up to playing out standards, i'd just love to hit my tunes on a dancefloor cos is all the sorta stuff that dont get heard much anymore. Speak to me on phone nearer time can decide what styles you'd like me to bring up, will get practicing  .
And aye mate if it cant happen for anmy reason will defo still come up for long weekend, not been to blackpool in years and will be some party. Would be wkd though so i'll try help as much as i can with gettin stuff organised, need live sets to give you a 21st with style.
Seriously recommend listening to nate aswell though mate i still cain his hardstyle mix the skills are fantastic, non stop stompin and not a beat out.

yeah im up for the cd idea, let us know what type of tracks you want on a disc and ill get mixing.
If you cannot find a dj to come down to the party and have resorted to playing cd's i could dj from my place if you want.
If you have an internet connection at wherever the party is i could do a live shoutcast to the party, just giving you options  but i would be happy to do that for you.

Cotts - i doubt the internet DJ'ing will be necessary, but you never know and yeah i'd love a cd mix i don't mind at all whats whacked in a mix coz its all good, but best stickin with the cheese variety so that there's more chance of people enjoying the tunes that don't really enjoy hardcore...
