Right the title should have got your attention so a lot of people will read this hopefully.

Even though I love hardcore I've never had direct experience of it in clubs or raves etc. Anyway I had a random thought.

It seems that in R'n'B and commercial dance all the videos show clubs that are full of scantily clad hot women dancing in a very sexy manner. All the CD's have women on the front covers these days. It seems that sex sells in these industries a lot and I was wondering how the Hardcore industry is like with this because it seems to me that this industry hasn't followed this type of marketing, and I wanted to ask you lot who know a lot more than me how hardcore is marketed.

In r'n'b its all about image, having fit girls all over the videos an that. An commercial dance has always had women dancing in the videos and on the CD covers, look at the new Clubland X-Treme Hardcore cover. With hardcore me an most people i know only buy it cus we love the music, theres no need for videos an i dont really care to much about the CD covers. its all about the music with hardcore.

Hardcore tunes might not show sex realated themes on there music cover but most of there video's are based in clubs or do have alot of women half naked in them.

As for the initial post...

Does EVERYTHING in life have to be associated with sex? Isn't hardcore good enough on its own? I think it's quite an achievement that hardcore survived without truly exploiting people's interest in sex, to be honest. I believe in the music. If I want to look at soft porn pictures, I'll buy a magazine instead of secretly ogling scarcely dressed ladies on a CD cover.

she's just getting hardcore confused with bouncy house. Can't say i blame her they sound the exact same apart from the speed and it is artists like breeze and styles etc on the vids.

Thats what i reckon the confusion is anyway, loadsa people seem to call bouncy dance hardcore nowadays or all the kids at my college do. got asked if i thought a commercial version of 4 am was good hardcore the other day, people are confused and it's easy to see why.

Just goes to show how blurred the line between Hardcore & Trance/Dance ect has gotten. When you can mention hardcore cd's and Gatecrasher in the same breath.

totally understandable to me anyway, when i was first into hardcore it was so different to dance/trance there's no way you could get it confused. Nowadays im sure i would be if i was just getting into the scene.

Anyhow katie welcome to the site hope you enjoy your time here
