because cds r gud, but vinyl is wer it originates from. its like taking the potato from a chip and replacing it with a low fat substitute. sure, ppl will try it, but it wnt work.

That doesn't really answer my question dj kule.
Give me some solid reasons as to why vinyl is superior.

na i hav nuffin against cds. i fink that they r rele gud 4 hearin music, and vinyl is a bit dated wen it cums 2 promos n that, but vinyl jus hav way betta feel 2 them wen mixin. it myt jus be me because i use vinyl n tried mixin cd n i cudnt mix 2 save my life. it was lyk the smooth sound of beatmatching was no longer coming out of the system. instead it sounded lyk sum1 was falling down the stairs. im sure if i cud mix with them then i wudnt hav as much against them, but i jus dnt lyk the idea of vinyl disapearing, n i recon if it eva does go, so will alot of djs
holla

OK. Listen to one of my mixes (check the link in my sig) and tell me that CD's aren't good for mixing. I'm far from the best, but I do pretty well in the mixing department. I'm also equally as effective with vinyl.
Believe me, I love vinyl as much as anyone. After 12 years, however, it's just not practical for me anymore. I have 100% respect for DJ's who play either format.

Ive read countless threads (not here) that CD-J's can hold the tempo just as good as any direct-drive turntable. Even better, more consistant matches some would say.
I think you need to either
a. quit bashing cds and continue mixing your vinyls
b. Buy a good pair of CD-J's so you can realize that your talkin outta your @$$ when it comes to mixing with cd's.
Still though, respect to those who use either format

oh yeh, n i wud lyk 2 apologise 2 every1 as well. i realise now that i kind of jumped in2 this discussion without even thinkin bout wot im sayin so i am sorry if i have anoyed any1 with my bold statments. i fink that in future i will caefuly plan what it is i am trying to put across, because i realise that sumtyms i am a bit of a tit. lol.
looking back at it all now, i realise that what i should have sed was that vinyl are in my opinion better, but i give any1 respect if they can use both, especialy mixing in and out of a cd into vinyl (i tried that a couple of times and got nothing but bad vibes) but thats my skills on cd decks. lol
i am going 2 purchase some decent top of the range gear and try 2 ajust 2 it. maybe i d need 2 accept that cds are starting to have a large part in DJ'in.
cheers 4 da advice and point outs ppl. hope i aint offended any1
