Beatin people on there birthdays a bit harsh
we just used to egg them or get there jacket thrown in the spit pit so we could grog on them when they tried to get it back.
but aye wee evel's got me very pissed off at that word now  , like a one man mission tryin to turn the clocks back

It was annoying when he was serious about "the beats" all of the time, but now it's really really really annoying that he seems to think it's funny to mention the words in every post.
As for birthday "beats", nah we didn't do that. In our nightmare of a school it was best to keep your birthday quiet. Getting hit would be the best thing to happen to you on the day

I mean, when you're young you get the 'Birthday Bumps' and after you've had bout 9yrs of that and ure thinkin you can relax on you're special day from now on, b4 you know it some little bastard's come up and twatted u 10 times nd says 'Hey Birthday Beats, C'MON EVERY1'!'

haha no mate was just a sorta long lane thing going down one side of the assembly hall before it got torched. Feckin massive though and from up above the lane everyone could stand and spit down at you it was manky, thankfully never had it happen to me but was funny to watch sometimes. Thing is cos it was there birthday they'd more than often have a new coat that day so they have to go and get it, if it was an older jacket most folk would rather leave it and get it later.
Your school sounds like mine mortis lol i'd always stay off if it was my bday, wouldnt dare go and chance it if anyone new. Kids can be pretty sick when they want

Yep that's what the beats is. At our school you would usually get thrown in the biffa after and it would be lent against the wall in a way that would stop you from getting out.
I hate it when people refer to a kick drum as "the beats".

Is a good laff though went back for first time in years last summer for a funeral, i like the city aswell might move there at some time.
The quay's looking excellent now they've done it up, apparently used to be really scabby looking but it's defo nice now

beats were a no. egg's, flour and one time dog shit was a yes. no wonder the headmaster ****ing hated our yearwe got told 15 minutes before we left on year 11, two days early cos he'd got heed of our plans for final day, we never had a ball or anything either whereas all the other years did
