During the Simpsons panel at San Diego's Comic Con International, executive producer and longtime Simpsons contributor Al Jean announced the news that many fans have been waiting for: "There will be a movie," putting enough "English" on the word "will" to leave no doubt among the faithful that they will be able to see the yellow-hued denizens of Springfield on the big screen. Jean did not provide a release date, saying only that the show's producers were taking the time to get it right. Rumours speculate late 2008.
A character from The Simpsons is to be revealed as gay, sparking a mystery among fans over who it will be.
"We have a show where, to raise money, Springfield legalises gay marriage," producer Al Jean told fans at a comic book convention.
"Homer becomes a minister by going on the internet and filling out a form. A long-time character comes out of the closet, but I'm not saying who."

wasnt that episode on sky a few moths ago?
Not sure mate, don't watch Sky One but i have only just found out that she was gay and thought i might as well post it with the news of the Simpsons film. Also other news, it is rumoured that Bart will be killed off in the last ever episode of the Simpsons, but this is uncomfirmed. Would be interesting to see it end that way though.

i was thinking flanders will turn out 2 be gay. i new smithers is already gay cuz he dreams about burns. selma that suprised me actually.

one of my fav ever episodes is the one where he moves to a hillbilly town and they all think he's a badboy cos of his moustache. Seriously funny shit in that one. Not happy about this last ever episode business though, anno it has to end sometime and its been going years but the new ones are funny as ever i think.
