Anyway here goes to add to hardcore4eva's feeble efforts:
Coronation Street
Happy Mondays
Oasis
Stone Roses
(and loads of other early 90's bands that I can't think of)
Hacienda - famous nightclub - part of dance music history in the UK
Man City
Stuart Allen (and of course Key 103FM for Kathryn)
The Moors Murders
and lots of other things I'd probably rather forget.
Kat
thanks, would take the Man City out coz no one have heard of them! lol (massive club my left testical)
It had to be done

Bransholme in Kingston apon Hull (Yorkshire) is said to be the largest. I think Leigh Park in Portsmouth, Hampshire (since 1949) is the second largest.

Newcastle = The one, the only, Mr Alan Shearer. I also go to the same school that Shearer, Michael Chopra, Robbie Elliott and Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits) went to.
Newcastle has the Tyne Bridge, the Millenium Bridge, St. James Park and the Sage building (although technically thats Gateshead).

Heh, I love Manchester, but St.Annes is my home town unfortunately - I was just at uni in Manchester for 7 years there. Now I'm not going in every day I miss it
If we're talking Manchester I could mention the MEN, Manchester Storm (Ice Hockey), New Order, M-People, Simply Red. Mr Scruff is Mancunian too isn't he? You've got Alderly Edge which has the largest consumption of champagne per head in the country (its where all the famous people live).
Theres loads more, but I can't be bothered lol

LOL!!! I think thats a case of when you see somebody famous every day of your life you don't tend to think of them as being famous any more.
Oh, just thought of one more - Mark and Lard! Used to see them in the Lass O'Gowrie the odd lunch time when I used to pop in to grab some lunch.
Other music related stuff - Flip n Fill and All Around The World are based there. I think N-Trance are now, but I'm not sure if they are original Mancunians
