When Hardcore went all GAY (1996+) and vocals became the thing (SHIT VOCALS I MIGHT ADD!) and the music went from stompin to COMMERCIAL trancey sounds but at 180BPM's I turned to...HARDHOUSE.

I think a lot of us old-timers went in that direction as it was the closet thing to what we knew and loved. It was original, innovative and most of all it made ya dance ya nuts off!

Tunes like Ingos' Repeat on Hotwax Traxx, Cortinas' Music is moving on Nukleuz and BK's Hoovers & Horns on Nukleuz.

How could hardcore get all gay?

Isn't that impossible for a style of music to be homosexual. I mean, does it like to form bonds with other homosexual styles of music or something?

Or, are you irreverently using the term in a derogatory sense? If you are, please stop, tis very childish.

Oh, and hard house is boring, imo.

hahaha!

Yea Myatt, I would say some are descent. My opinion they are so alike though and very easy to predict, some artists I do take care to listen to: Gammer, Stormtrooper, Robbie Long, Devastate, Lost Soul, the artist that did Spacehoppers (Awesome tune), liking Ham's new stuff a lot! I also like a lot of tunes people produce and put up on this site, Especially mj-dream's / The Deviant, they're music's complete amazingness to my ears... but I still find there are a lot of tunes that just plain boring but that's just me I guess. Well just to bring to conclusion, I was not Dis'ing new style hardcore I was just saying I'm not into the sounds so much.

It was top stuff in 1996. It only went all pop song after 1999.

Spacehopper is by D-Lyte, but it was co-written by Stormtrooper (if you can't tell.)

One of my favorites at the moment.

The plain boring stuff is usally from Raverbay and as often mentioned. I have heard better from Hixxy, Styles and Breeze. I don't call Raverbaby Hardcore, it's (here we go again) clubmusic on fast-forwards!

Yes I was using the word 'Gay' in a derogative manner and I am SORRY if that offends you. Even though we live in a Politically correct world, sometimes a non PC term can be an effective usage of the English language. After all the word 'GAY' does mean 'HAPPY'. The word 'Gay' was hi-jacked by Homophobics in the early 20th century as a derogative.

Can I say a form of music is Gay? Of course not. I have associated the word with that era of music because of my experiences

In the many gay clubs I have been to the music they played was very vocalised and commercialised with the exception of Trade.

You obviously feel offended to be possibly linked to the word which in it self shows a lack of thought and understanding.

Try this link to Discogs http://www.discogs.com/artist/Stormtrooper+(3)

There should be some of Stormtrooper's stuff on there.

Do you seriously think making hardcore tracks that sound the way hardcore did 11+ years ago would somehow bring more originality into the scene... Sure it was original sounding then but its not anymore.

NEW sounds/styles/techniques/layouts are original not old ones.

If the producers from that time were forced to keep making breaks hardcore,
we would have no scene at all... people would be bored to tears of reused
amen breakbeats, pianos that sound similar to each other and stabs that
have been recycled thousands of times...

Why do you people constantly moan about the state of the scene at the
moment by coming on to a website and wasting a perfectly good day by
slating what we all do?

Go away to a studio and make the hardcore that you want to listen too...
thats what all of todays producers are doing after all? its just a shame that
you dont like what were all making, thats all.
