To be fair to Rankin (although it won't make up for the stuff he's done) he has actually started producing his own stuff with some other guy (the other guy is probably engineering everything but atleast its a start), very old skool sounding stuff with hardish beats, Smoogie would probably like it...

I'd recomend he changes his name then... cuse soon as someone sees the name "rankin" on something... its just gonna be dismised!

In fairness to him, most hardcore producers do pretty much the same especially lately.
There are so many sped up trance tunes that are now hardcore it's stupid.
I think he is doing little different to some of the biggest hardcore djs in the world.
I shocked that many of you cannot see this.

Lately hardcore has been crap and hardcore producers are taking the piss out of the people who put them where they are. For example, the 2005 remix of rock you softly. EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE ORIGINAL EXCEPT ONE ****ING SOUND BEING SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT.
I know that there are producers out there who do not fall into this catagory and do produce original music, but its a shmae that they mostly never make it onto the scene because of the cheapskate big producers blocking their way.

Thankyou mate i've been saying the exact same thing for ages. Sad thing is you've more chance of gettin the pope a season ticket at ibrox than gettin some of the sheep on here to think for themselves on the matter.
As soon as the words "rankin", "cammy" or whatever come in a topic i no exactly whats gonna be there and its pathetic.

if you think your being really witty and original your not, the boys been about for years now and everyone no's how shit he is.
The amount of hardcore tracks that have made producers money cos of lifting full vocals or piano riffs from other tracks is unbelievable. Some of my fav tracks have came about because of this, it's part of dance music and i'm glad its that way.
But people sayin what rankin does is out of order cos its shit, whats to say the people who made the original "4am" vocals or whatever dont think every hardcore mix ever made of it was shit.
very rarely does any cash go back to the original producers for samples taken so is the same kettle of fish, although not the exact same.
I think a lotta my fav trance tunes have been ruined by some of hardcores most sucessful producers. But i have this really futuristic method so it doesnt cause my life stress, I DONT LISTEN TO THE SHIT VERSIONS.
if people enjoy listenin to bootleggers destroyin tunes then whats it to do with you? Leave it to the people who've had the work ruined to take it to court, thing is i reckon if it was worthwhile it wouldve been done already.
Same reason theres hardly ever any legal action when samples are stolen from other tracks.
Anyway excessive i'm glad to see someone else has took the time to think about this and come up with there own decision, instead of just jumping on the bandwagon cos its beyond lame now.
