You guys may have notice recently... I’ve kina been a bit of an arrogant **** on these boards... (Hey Evan I have noticed!) I think I ow you guys an apology as I'm not normally such a immature retard...
But I’ve just been in a really foul on every hardcore forum recently, throwing insults about albums, being over the top about my opinions, being completely arrogant and opinionated... and at one point I Evan debated about how "hardcore dance IS NOT rave...
Basically... I'm just really fed up with it all... with hardcore in general! its just not really doing anything "constructive" with its self is it
I've been waiting... and waiting sooo long for "something" to happen...
And it hasn't happened yet...
Always putting my faith in the scene... giving that £20 for a new comp, dreading to think if I’m Evan going to like it... But then continue to support it Evan if I don't!
This last month, I've starting to really REALLY Dowt our scene... and it’s the first time I've EVER done it... Its just really pissing me off how once upon a time hardcore had variety... it was wikid man... and it was why I loved it so much! - Then why the f*ck did that all have change!
These days its soooo hard to find a UK record I like!
I can't Evan give half the tracks a fair review for the simple fact that the DJ is being such a retard as every track sounds JUST THE SAME as the one I herd before it! Therefore nothing remarkable stands out about the it... therefore the tracks gets a bad rating! where as if it was say, the first track in the mix... I probly would of liked it...
see where I'm coming from ^^^^
These past few days it’s ALL just really started to hit me hard... It’s just all finally sinking in... And I ent really taking too kindly it...
Hardcore heaven is out tomorrow... (**** yes)!
There’s allot of comps coming out in October... some that I'm REALLY looking forward too...
So I Guess This Is Make or Break for Me Really...
If I don't hear anything that "takes my breath away" (like hardcore used to do)...
Then... I might just give myself a break... and F*ck Off All Together...
Stick to my Trance... and just leave hardcore to it... to rot away... Doing what it did yesterday... today... and then tomorrow and THEN the day after that ect ect ect! on andddd on anddd onnnnn again!
Cuse I think enough is enough... I'm getting fed up of waiting... and its really getting me down...
Hardcore used to make me "happy"... it used to make me feel good no matter what mood I was in... But these days I fail to see what’s so "happy" about it anymore
It really really does suck ass
And I think you guys know how passionate I am about the music... Spes When it comes to "Hard Dance"
So it’s really is a HUGEEEE shame for me to have to say all this!
But I've decided enough is enough... It’s really getting me down... and I’m short on money as it is, I can't go wasting Evan more in the future on stuff I most likely won't like anyway!
I guess you could say this is living proof of what sixfeet was talking about...

Mate, you know I respect your opinions on the majority of things you wrote about, so bearing that in mind I hope you will take the following comment in the friendly nature in which it is intended....
Its been said just about every time theres an "I'm leaving Hardcore" post on these boards, but in your case I truly mean this sincerely as your a creative guy who I have alot of respect for as far as your art goes, but.....
QUIT WHINING LIKE A LITTLE GIRL AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!! :-)
Seriously, you've got the talent and the drive behind you to make a difference in a scene which you yourself have said you love, so quit relying on other people to dictate to you what you should listen to and start forcing other people to listen to what you want to listen to, who in turn will (if they like it) start making more of the same.

Personally, i think the scene hasnt been so good since the mid-ninties.
imo there are 2 aspects of hardcore that are in a bad way.
1) Vinyl - as with every music genre, there comes a time when technology progresses and the genre has to progress with it. At this very moment hardcore is going through 'the transformation' ie Vinyl to Digital. Therefore leading to times of uncertainty both from vinyl labels and digital labels. A lot of people doubt digital. But if you look at the bigger picture, Every advance in technology has teething problems - and this is what is happening with digital - ie piracy. the more labels behind digital the better because it will progress more
2) the quality of the music at the top - i personally think that since hardcore has become appealing to clubland (by that i dont mean the series, i mean the clubbers) the top guns have found a style of hardcore that is successful, so why fix something that aint broken? i.e why should dj *insert here* create a track that is a little bit experiimental that will have a 60% success rate, when the same dj/producer can produce a same old same old track, with a 100% success rate? he has to feed his family and pay the bills right? the thing about clubland - is its all about phases. hardcore is in at the moment. but it wont be forever, and when it isnt, the top guns will (or should)get back to their old ways and push the boundaries of production (which is what hardcore is all about isnt it?
But what people dont see, is there is more to hardcore than the top tier.Sk8siM - have u listened to all the stuff coming out of RFU/JAL/Lethal Theory/Notorious/Relentless/Future dance/TnC/Kaotik? i am sure you have, dont get me wrong. but that type of hardcore is alot 'deeper' than the top tier stuff. more experimentation, it means that you may not like it straight away, but it is 99& certain that you will like it after 2/3 listens! where as the top tier stuff is produced so that is it instantly appealing!
Take Robbie Longs Hardcore Nation 3 mix. Craig Switchback will back me up on this, i said to craig on MSN, that i really wasnt feeling Robbie's HN3 mix, really quite dissapointed with it. 2 weeks later, i wouldnt stop telling craig how much i fcuking loved it! and now i seriously think that it is one of the best mixes i own!!
Anyway Sk8sim just order Hardcore Underground and WOW 11 of amazon - probably cost ya £15 for both of them, and your love for hardcore will be restored.
I dont think alot of people realise, that 'happy' hardcore is on its way back in. TnC/JAL/RFU/Future dance - all bringing back the ravey/party vibe. with old school stabs and lush piano's and pointless vocals!!! Happy Hardcore is back!
When someone askes me that type of music i like - i no longer say hardcore - i say happy hardcore!!!!
anyway i am hungover - and i think i know what i need - chocolate milk! i'm off 2 get some!

You're leaving upfront UK hardcore for trance? How will you be able to tell the difference?

Annoys me when ever1 keeps whinging that hardcore is dying and its shit, its what YOU make of it! I think ever1 likes to jump on the band wagon sometimes n say "yeh hardcore is dying, its the record labels...bla bla bla.." when they dont even know what the fuk there talkin about

You know the really ironic thing... Everytime someone complains about UK HardCore on here... i Always say the SAME thing lol!
I don't know what it is though... I've just felt really crap laltly when its come to music... I've gone though my HUGE libary of hardcore and theres nothing i wanna play lol... I just wanna listen to something new... but whenever i do that, its never good...
Its only freeform & breakbeat hardcore that seams to be keeping me intressed... and half the time i don't know where to look for breakbeat hardcore!!!
you get the odd UK hardcore tracks here and there that do take my breath away... but then i feel crap having to call it UK Hardcore lol
I've taken a little break from producing too... Tryed messing with other genres and styles... and most the time the only music I'm playing to myself is my own stuff lol witch is a good feeling, but its bad aswell cuse when you go back into the production feild... its becomes harder changing things around cuse your to used to the prototype version lol
The key thing with me is "variety" i live for it! i don't want to buy an album that is the same thing start to finish (evan if its good shit... its still anoying)...
Thats why i respect DJ's like brisk...he incorpares Breakbeat hardcore, happycore, UK ect ect... the works... into some of his mixs man! with good choices of tracks that all go well together at the right times...
theres another thing i beleave in aswell... "Breakbeat hardcore"
If this stuff was mainstream ^^^^ I'd feel more proud to be part of the scene...
CUSE ITS SOOOO GOOD!!!
not just that but... it has a wide public apeal... just take one look at what the prodigy have achived to see what i mean...
It just puzzles me... why no one has though of that already?
But... I ent gonna be the one to do that :P lol I'm still stuck with my 4/4, I'm not ready to start slaping the breaks over my main leads just yet... i use breaks in almost every track... but only at the right places...
and besides... i like 4/4
just breakbeat is SOO GOOD! lol

Yep... There the comps I'm looking forword too Aswell as HH4 (as the last one was intense) and hardcore euphoria (gawd i hate that name!!!) just for the return of dougal and cuse BRISK & HAM!!! (they always cook up something good ) evan if the whole mix is shite... your garenteed to have something on there that blows you away...

I hope your right man In the 90's the thing that made you smile was the "chesse"... chesse is dead though... so what do you have...
jokes? chessey ones? funny shit? vocals that make you lauth!!!
and you have..... "funnycore?"
look at "the call - gammer" and "cilic bang - jazakid" for the proof!
they all make you do the same thing "happy hardcore" did... only that style is dead... so why not do the next best thing ay...
Just beats me why its taken so long lol [:P]

I'll tell you what you need... ANOTHER BEER!!! just the one ;) "air of the dog" (or whatever the saying is)... Shorts your hang over out everytime
Cheers Guys
and Xenochrome - Trance is a big... BIGGGGGGGG genre...
Try listening to "Destiny (Ace's Delight Remix) - Pervading Call" - would be the best example i could give as it my all time fav track... and compear it to UK Hardcore... now YOU tell me the diffrence

I could but i've got nothing "concreat" finished at the moment... nothing is mixed down either so they sound horralbe and most need vocals recorded for them... I need to buy equaipment and my mom robed my studio moniors a few months back cuse of the noise... so i've been working with pc speakers (OUCH! lol)
I've kinda just been planing stuff and scrathing my ass more then getting down to bussinus...
But i'll hold you to that mate... i'll see if i can grab some samples up for you soon in the next few days... but don't expect perfection, ok lol

I remember Hixxy and Dougal saying they don't want the scene to get more and more commercial, bigger and bigger only for it to implode in on its self, I on the other hand think thats exactly what needs to happen, circle of life man!
Hardcore Heaven is out tomorrow? I didn't even know! Then again I only just remembered yesterday that my birthday is on Tuesday, just goes to show how much my head has been up my arse lately!
Oh and its even* ;)

I think Seduction (Maximum Impact) and the TNC crew are going in the right direction as of late. But Raver Baby and the other trancy lables need help, in my opinion. Just Listen to Stick'em (robbie long) or Seduction & Gammers- Put your hands up in the air. Now thats good stuff.
