Fair play i no brisk has knowledge of music, but still i'd say Scott Browns mixdowns sound better. I haven't bought any next gens or evo's for a while but when i did the evo's always seemed a better quality. I like a lot of next gen tunes, but a lot were rips of old dutch cheese and other styles and originals sounded better imo.

And yes, mixing wise Brisk can beat Scott Brown anytime - he is the best hardcore DJ in the world after all :P

Bein honest he's defo up there i find his mixes pretty amazing. Technical wise there is some that can do more, but in the old sets Brisk tune selection and mixing mean he's gotta be with the best from anywhere.

You can really tell in his older sets as you say - I have this set from 97 where he plays each track for about 2 minutes yet the mixing is SUPER tight (like, compilation tight) and he scratches, etc. It's crazy.

What mix is that mate?

I've got a few sets will try find one to put up for anyone who hasnt had chance to hear his old style before.

Basically say you have a really good idea for a song , an engineer would work with you on that idea helping perfect the technical production side of it. Like getting every beat just right, or helping getting the sound you want from the equipment.

This is where Scott Brown has always been very good i think, the quality of sounds and kick drums is always spot on.

Dont bother with either of there labels anymore but thats just how my taste in musics changed, but gotta lotta respect for them both for different things.

Scott Brown is definately one of the best at getting the "clean" sound out of tracks

They don't sound complex even if they are and his mix downs are amazing because he uses the perfect amount of compression on EVERYTHING.

Brisk's tracks are better "party tracks" IMO
And they're more fun to play AND to dance to.

Brisk.

Altough I like alot of Scott Brown tracks both old and new, and in my opinion he's wrote some of my favourite ever hardcore tracks, I'll still have to say Brisk. I find Scott Brown's sets are very dull and he's not very original with his mixing. Brisk on the other hand, great choice of tunes, great mixing and not bad at scratching either

Brisk's mixdowns are a little messy compared to Scott's though, as has been mentioned in this thread.

Two different styles, and they are both needed :P But is was kind of Scott Brown that got me into Hardcore in the first place... (around Bonkers 10 era)

I think they are quite similar in styles! they work around the full UK sound! and enjoy the Dutch influence aswell! (I presume this is why the thread is here) Its a horrible question though! I really like both for lots of reasons! I could go on about these for ever, but I would call it equal for the one and only reason that they are both 100% HARDCORE! its in their blood! BTW long may they continue!
