ok, define raver, I'll define modern-raver for you.... AND IN ONE WORD......'HYPERCRIT' no really. I see that thread where you all hate that ravers-choice line up, I take it most of you voted, and looking that in perspective, doesn't that make you hypercits? I'm sure it's not been fixed.... so raver is all about lying is it? you say you don't like darren styles and all that softcore but really YOU DO??? eh? I'm not trying to stir things up and if you think that then fair enough because this message will come across that way but REALLY, I'm not trying to stir things up. I really don't understand what a raver is these days.... Turning up to a HTID doesn't make you a raver, listening to clublandextreme hardcore 5 in your soaped up corsa really loud doesn't make you a raver, it just makes you stupid.
you even NEED mc storm to tell you are a raver, how low can you be? I would expect it from 14 year olds, but most of you like me are in your 20s right?
a real raver, is all about going to illegal events and traverling the west coast of the UK with gypsies, that's what a REAL raver is all about, a real raver is all about having friends who are members of greenpeace. a real raver is all about having tapepacks from 91-95 and ripping them onto your stolen computer, (not that I have a stolen computer)
yeah, I know what a damn raver is 4sure, I've had a bit to drink tonight but even if i was sober id still saying be same thigns anyway so don[t even judge me.
as for that ush dot net lot, they've got fed up of the whole styles bashing, it seems like it's a religion so we don't need to tell them, their safe, they know what REAL hardcore is about
oh and while im on the subject of real hardcore i can tell you, mnost of you UK ppl anyway i don't care about the rest of europe, (you're behind us on music anyway but i don't mean that in a nasty way) ok ok, so real hardcore is about 20somthing in a small town knowing a mate of a mate of a mate who has like a real out of date computer, making the best ****ing hardcore on a really ****ing crap, lo fi tracker, and using breakbeats instead of lazy 4/4 kicks, if you go back to 91, and without me sounding like a ardkore gramp-pa which i aint, is somthing you 20somthings kids now should be listnienng to,
a bit like folk music, you need your roots, so why are all these kids disrespecting the grampa like theories of **** off breakbeats, i want kickdrums at 175bpm, you lot blatently aren't skaters n that, you are just idiots who look like you go to too many of those handbag house nights, driving in your modern sports cars because your family is rich and you don't jack to desearve the money you are wasting,
also, you are the same ppl who if you are a producer, you want your studio to look like a hair salon place, with it all done by a ****ing wood carpenter whos just ripped you off, with a big **** off mixing desk just to make the studio look good, HELL! AND WOW! if i had a studio, mine would just be a floating shed on a swamp with my pentium 1 PC running a tracker and maybe an akais1000, that, would do my fine....
now look at it, 14 year old mums being asda-ardcore for their babies now is it? wow that how it looks on perspective,
its a shame realleh (haha i sounded northern there int it) cause i can't do shit, if i had the power, i OR actually, if i could see the future as a kid in 1991, cause i was about 6 or 7 in 1991 if i could see the future i probably would of said right! i'm FINE with the split of late 93, that doesn't bother me, it's just the post 2000 era im worried about, and yeah, it REALLY did go down hill from there
what even happened to ruffness? and real ravers huh? cause i would class my self as a real raver even when i've only been to aqfew raves, ive seen so much scum who know NOWT about the scene, all they wanna do is party??? yea h wel that's what you would say! i mean come on, you don't get folkies at folk festivals who just go there for the booze, they go there for the tunes man! i mean, when i hear some of that clubland shite, i can't stop thinkin im gonna put on a folk cd anyway
ok. So i've talked about the realness of ravers, i've talked about studios and stereotypes and hypercrits, Now i'm going to talk about Narrow-mindiness.
ok, i'll start off by telling you that i grow up listening to soo many bands, when i was 14, 15 i DIDN'T just stick to one genre, and god help all those narrowminded bastards now eh? like, you ONLY listen to hardcore cause drum'n'bass is for other ppl or somthing? wtf is all that about, i remember at college some one saying to me if you're gonna be a dj, you don't just mix 1 style you mix all styles, RIGHT? so how can anyone come up with so much shit? actualyl, ts not the dance heads who think like that, it's mainly the rockers, if it's not got guitars in it, they won't listen to it, .... < and when you get that in the dance heads mind, things can only get worse for the scene
ok, now i'm going to talk about adverts., Now most of the adverts i've seen would be a pass in america for trash tv, i mean, wtf has a semi nacked girl got to do with hardcore? ok, i see the pun? but it really does givr hardcore a bad eimEGJG
roh **** IT! I;M NOW GONNA TELL MY MEATS I DON'T EVEN MAKE HARDCORE NO MORE BECAUSE OF THAT IMAGE STUCK ON BY YOU FOOLS, im not gonna just say i work with breakbeats and leave it at that,
sorry but it's too late, you've destroyed my scene righ tnow.
too bad,

I gave up reading that when you turned into a 3 year old and started ranting.
BUT!
I do agree that the term 'Raver' has been lost in translation somewhere between 15 years ago and the present.
I know what raving is all about, both in the past and present. But just because it means something different nowadays doesn't stop people having the right to describe themselves as whatever they want. I'm more concerned about what constitutes a 'rave' these days, not what those who attend events choose to call themselves.
You're on the right lines, but as usual you have to talk that extra bit of bollocks to spoil what good points you make!
So while you very nearly had my attention you still managed to piss me off because you think you're the only one here who knows what it's like to be a real raver, when you only know what you've HEARD from other people. You've seriously underestimated a lot of people here son, and for that you'll never get any respect.

I read a quarter of that then got bored. A raver is actually someone who swings both ways.

since we don't really have kandi culture here and stuff, to me a raver is just someone who likes to go to raves and has lost his or her heart to electronic music.
What bothers me about todays meaning of "raver" is that when you mention to ppl you're a raver they automaticly assume that you run around in clothes with clashing colours, pants that seen too big, a pacifier around your neck waving glowsticks around like a raving idiot.
they usually sem surprised then to find out that even though I claim to be "a bit of a raver" I dress in all black, wear eyeliner, wave my neck and wrists covered in spikes and wear bigass armyboots.
this just shows about how much the stereotype of "the raver" can anoy ppl like me.
