Me and my friends were discussing this last night. As we know of gay people in are area this subject certinitly seems to be relevent.What i am wondering is being gay a choice? In other words is it something that life experience, personal personal preference or any other factors determine. I am unsure so i was wondering what you guys think? (Edit) Just to let you know im no way a gay basher (Edit)

Well, I am gay, and I know I didnt choose to be. I believe it can sorda go both ways (lol), sorry, but I HATE flamboyant gay guys, and gay guys that talk with that stupid lisp and just act so damn feminine. I have always found myself feeling closer to guys, and being attracted to them, never to any girls, ever since I was young. Sorry to say, but I dont think you will get far with this topic, soooooo many ppl have diffrent beliefs, and you're either going to get "yes, its a choice" or "no, its not". I am also Christian (Baptist), lol, so ya, I try to live my life as religous as possible.

To be honest im not sure, tho i crack gay jokes i have a friend from my first school who was straight went on holiday and came back gay, he says he was exploring his sexuality with a group of people he met (fun fun fun) But i think sexual preference can be down to biological or chemical or desire (X overpowering Y or vise verser), i can't really agree with Gay being a choice because not many choose to be Gay, im pretty sure my mate says that the only reason he found out he was gay was because he knew his love for a woman was never to the fullest but the love for his man is what he wants.

Then again people might be straight but never realize that they could be happier with the same sex because the fear of being different, so i say Gay isn't a choice more of a hiccup in the genes.

Definitely not a choice. I'm not sure how or why someone would choose their sexual orientation of it was possible. Most likely something biological, though I really haven't researched the subject as much as I should.

anyway, I believe it's not a choice but I don't know if you're born with it either. Personally I believe it's more of a culmination of factors that may or may not make you like ppl of the same sex.
There could be a genetic factor that in combinations with other factors (whatever he hell they may be) will determine the sexual preference of a person.

Try thinking about how you feel being attracted to the opposite of your sex! This is probably how gay people feel. The only difference is they are attracted to the same sex.

Don't really believe its a choice, i mean, did you chose to be heterosexual? Were you really attracted to the same sex as yourself?

You just have to think of how YOU feel about the opposite sex, and all that comes with it but in the context of it being the same sex! Sure you'll find the answer somewhere there. :-)
