anyways. _CMC_.. technically, vinyl doesn't have better quality than an MP3. It really is sad that tracks are sold in a format that cuts down on hearable bandwidths, but I'd rather prefer MP3 towards an crackly vinyl, that I need to buy a proper player, needle, cleaning set and cleaning software just to make it sound good on my computer afterwords.
I dont think people dont buy hardcore because of the price (or that the tracks are too long). I think it's mostly because not everyone who listens to Hardcore has a creditcard, or a paypal that is connected to an bankaccount.
Be under no illusion that an mp3 can be better sound than a vinyl! A used and abuse vinyl yes but a new vinyl not a hope in hell! But this descusion is about buying tunes, and you would have be stupid to buy a vinyl if it is not in good condition!
You say you use mp3's to dj, although i would agree they sound ok in the bedroom but when giging don't you notice the difference in sound quality? I certanily did when i first tried this and from then it was wav/aiff all the way!
If i buy records i rip them and store the file as a aiff (as wav doesn't incorperate the ID3 tag info), i picked up a western digital my book 500gb for just over £100 so stoarge space isn't a problem:)
My biggest gripe about the whole pricew is that they are selling you a inferior quality product yet if you work it out they are charging you more/making more money form selling you that! It ain't right.................

agreed
mp3s sound fine at home, even on studio monitors, but on a big system you notice ALOT of change in the subbass and such

What he means is that if making Hardcore is your only income then you need to be able to make enough money to live off it.

basicly 90% of my vinyls where new when i bought them, and only a handfew of them where good enough without having to forcible clean. anyways
Well i got 780GB internal HDD space so i cant say i am at loss of space (well my Anime is taking up loads of space :P) anyways, FLAC might be a better format when it comes to "near-perfect" quality. for smaller files (just like MP3), I think AAC+ (not itunes AAC) might be better than MP3, since it seems to save up on different kinds of frequences than MP3 (AACplusv2 sounds crispier than MP3)
