Havent heard this new version but i liked the original, a kind of trance version of "Earth song" with no lyrics iirc.

christ, he's a ****ing producer and he's done enough for hardcore that he could never touch the genre and he'd still have done more than 99% of the people out there. why does everyone have to be branded a heretic for not staying 100% focused on hardcore? he has a life to maintain.. money to make...

i know he,s done plenty 4 hardcore hence the name(the god father),but i hate trance and all that other crap so it does annoy me when hardcore djs make other styles,u don,t see house djs making hardcore tracks do u ?

I'm not an idiot. But, clearly he's interested in making money (like everyone), so why would he not produce other genres...especially right now with the business side of hardcore on the verge of collapse.

I also wasn't talking about Slipmatt in particular, plenty of hardcore DJ's who aren't getting enough money to even subsist on are producing other, more commercial styles. But, house DJ's don't need to make hardcore, because the money is in house, not hardcore.

not sure if you know this but slipmatt doesn't exist to cater to your specific needs. i can't believe you're honestly going to give the guy shit because he wants to make other genres of music (for whatever reason).

i think its fair to say everyone listens to more than one genre of music throughout the course of their lives, why should a producer have to stay 100% invested in a single genre? not to mention branching out gives you more experience that you can bring back to whatever your "main genre" is.

being serious, i always wondered hardcore clearly sells more than hard house compilations,(i,m nearly a 100% positive)as bonkers has clearly sold alot more units than extreme euphoria,as bonkers has 18 releases and extreme euphoria is nowhere near it and prob never will, and there copying bonkers by bringing out the best of extreme euphoria lol,and bonkers cds have went silver and gold, and they will never do that(yeh),but do they sell more records?

Slipmatt has been been playing house for as long as I can remember. Same with most of the guys, Sy was spinning Handbag House around '94. You have to remember the scene was not just one style once upon a time and Hardcore was built on Italian Piano/Belgian rave scenes.
