Hardcore is a type of music, not a ****ing club or cult or scene. Jesus.
Its music for ****s sake. Why do you have to dress like a **** to enjoy it?
Im all for freedom of expression, but thats just ****ing gay.

i listen to hardcore because i like the music, plain and simple
not because i want to fit into a fairy cult of grown men and women dressing like teletubbies

Kinda contradict yourself there, huh? Dang dude, its just a fun thing to do. Its been that way over here in America since 1995/1996. Its just a fashion that goes along with our rave scene. Nearly all our of biggest Hardcore parties are 6 year old themed like The Candy Festival, or Candyland, Care-A-Lot, Seasme Street, Whinnie The Pooh, Pokemon, etc. You know if the the flyer is kid-themed, its going to have Hardcore music there becuse that's just how it is portrayed over here. Heck! Look at Hullabaloo, some of the world's biggest Hardcore events full of thousands of candy kids. And The Candyball that is going on in NYC. They are trying to push the candy kid concept and Hardcore music forward. Hardcore & candy kids go together. Get over it. Its not a "cult" or nothing. Damn!

this is everything RIGHT about the north american rave scene (except for maybe being slightly on the OCD side of things).
these are 3 rare and extreme cases, you might see something like this less than once a year. i think most of these kids would wear jackets/hoodies over these creations in public, people just don't run around the streets like this u know.
i think some people are getting the wrong impression here.
... so wipe the sand out of your vagina and be a little bit tolerant of others in places you probably know little about.
(fyi, i never dress up. but im not against people who do, they help create the vibe and all that...)

You make a statement then contradict what you say in the very next sentence. Retard.
Dress however stupid and childish you want, it's your life. But don't go around wearing stuff like that then expect people to take you seriously. Ever.

skimming over this thread again, i don't see anyone anywhere saying that kandi kids are meant to be taken seriously. Ever.
it's for fun, partying is for fun, making ridiculous kandi is for fun. you know why? cuz it's not real life.
things are different in different parts of the world. at north american raves, you can walk up and talk to anyone. i've heard from a friend who has been to parties in UK, US, and Canada, that the UK scene is a little less friendly than the north american one? not quite as friendly anyway, in the sense that it's not okay to walk up to just anyone and start a conversation.
the rave scene is supposed to be non-judgemental, here anyway. if you are above everyone else, then maybe it is time to move on to the club scene.

nowhere in the rules of the world does it state that one must be a hippie to listen to hardcore. i'll act however the hell i want towards people and listen to hardcore. you need to separate this whole notion of openness and teletubby worship from the music. okay, so americans listening to UK hardcore act like children, please stop imposing that upon the rest of us -- and yes, implying that others should "move on to the club scene" because they "don't fit in" is doing just that.
