I forced a friend to throw it in the car player one day cuz i hadn't heard it. Never laughed so hard at a cd and turned it off after the first mix.

I can honestly say I need some new copies of the H2bH series. My chapters 1,3,4,& 7 are beat up. You have to admit, he picks ok tracks. Also, the "Chapter 8" was one of the worst Hardcore mixes I own, but the mixing between the track before "Heaven's Above" INTO "Heaven's Above" is so energizing!

Chapter 8 is "rare" because it is unlicensed.

as opposed to the great compilations that are out now with computerized djing? i own all 8 chapters now and i will admit that some of them may not surpass other cds out there, but one thing is for sure is that it's only 1 cd per album. so you'll definitely have some of the best trax on there instead of havin 3 cds w/ 20 or more songs a piece. and the majority of songs on those 20+ cds are shitty fillers in between the 4 maybe 5 good songs.

I can name dozens of three disc compilations with better tracklistings and an INFINITY of compilations with better mixing
Simply terrible.
I might not be the hugest fan of recent compilations but the Bonkers releases that came out around the same time as the H2BH stuff was far superior. Or Dancemania SPEED. etc.

Have to agree with latininxtc, H2BH is all about track selection. Sure the few seconds between tracks are bad, but the tracks are what people listen anyways :P

Even tho i really do like the H2bH series, i will however have to say that chapter 8 is probably not worth purchasing. The mix is not that great, and the tracklisting is average. for anybody who has all the chapters, u probably noticed that the tracks don't flow together as great as previous chapters have. Chapter 5 is still my favorite.

Oh comon, Happy 2B Hardcore contributed so much to popularity of Hardcore in North America! I dont know about chapter 8 (didnt even know of its existence) but in chapters 1 to 7, the mixing varies from average to good, but never amazing or awful.
But what really made Hapy 2B Hardcore the first step in to Happy Hardcore for so many North American ravers (and casual listeners) is the tracklisting. It contained such gems and anthems from a wide array of artists and labels, it was simply irresistible.
I'm personally not a fan of Bonkers before the 8th volume of the serie, and I think Happy 2B Hardcore definitely contained less of these forgetable tracks the old Bonkers were in my opinion filled with (amongst the rest of the pure anthems and good stuff of course :P)

Ya, I think H2bH had its moment in America. Heck, I wouldnt even have known about if I hadn't seen H2bH Ch.4! Ya, Frolic picked a good handful of tracks, but the mixing was never top notch, Chapter 1 being the worst of the 8 (mixing wise). Chapter 2 is my fav. though. The mix had a harder edge to it.
