What's wrong with that is you get Dark, Glitchy, Psy, Bassline Freeform DJ's who don't venture past there two labels that produce that stuff. :-S Lump it all in one and it all gets played. Fair enough the "big labels" still get more plays, but more of these DJ's will listen to all of it if it's just under Freeform.

Also... People get confused if you mix it all up in a set. :-S

It all works so much better when it's just one genre/scene.

dude , its inevitable. look at hardcore alone : uk hardcore , gabber, terror... why is it ok for every genre but freeform. it makes no sense. no offense but are people so unintelligent its impossible to keep up with a few sub genres ? every other genre seem to keep up with its multiple styles.

Oh I can keep up with them thanks and I don't think keeping up with sub-genres is any indication of a persons intelligence.

You obviously need to learn to read properly.

I don't like anything being split into loads of sub-genres. For the reasons I stated. Which you obviously chose to ignore.

You could have always just respected why I don't like them but not agreed. No need to try and insinuate that I'm an idiot as I can't keep track of sub-genres (which I can). :-/

Meh.

You used to be able to put together a much more varied set that had influences from all types of dance music... Not so easy these days.

Yeah! Definitely loved the harder feel to those tracks! It's a shame that it seems to be less of them as of late......

Freeform is the only style of Hardcore i enjoy these days. i'm pretty much 100% devoted to mixing it, ****ed UK Hardcore off sometime last year.

I never understand why people dont like sub-genre'ing. And i dont refer to it as sub-genre'ing, more like words used to describe different styles. As Kreatrix said, without sub'genre'ing a finnish freeform track could get referred to as sounding the same as EFM7 - Raver Raver Raver! they are at complete opposite ends of the freeform spectrum. So people should stop saying 'sub genre's are bad for the scene/music etc' because what would be worse is if it all got lumped together under 1 world which would imply no variation.

I pretty much agree with Kreatrix's references to the different styles. As with ANY form of music you will always have the more popular and easily accessible stuff, which is pretty much the NEC. Yeah their stuff is more hands in the air and closely linked to UK Hardcore, but i am loving what they do am i keen admirer of their works.

Who said Finnish Freeform was slow? Why dont you check out some of Alek Szahala's early tracks which are produced between 190 - 200bpm, then come back and say its slow. Not saying that their isnt slow FinRG out there, as some other tracks are produced at 160bpm etc. But i sub genre of music which sint being produced at 160bpm to 200bpm is exciting and a lot more fun to mix! Theres nothing like building a set up and started off nice and slow before finishing it off fast and furious *incoming shameless plug* check out my Freeformania 2 mix which starts off at 170bpm and finishes around 200bpm! http://www.sendspace.com/file/iwp97l

right on the money m8.

ps: finnish is hardly slow. you must be listening to speedcore on a daily basis (google). that was pretty funny that you were listening to hard house and complaining about finnish being slow. now your liking hardstyle thats so much slower and not freeform at all. very confusing ....

the first mix you played by swoosh was probably hard house/ nrg. i remember him playing a lot of that stuff. its all good to not like finnish but dont say you hate it cus its slow and turn around and like hardstyle lol. its inconsistent to your complaint . hardstyle is SLOWER than finnish freeform.

Kreatrix, since when did i ever say i hate or dont like finnish freeform?

ive never even heard any finrg so i wouldnt say i hate something ive not heard.

i also stated i love the freeform we get on uk cds and raves. jus because i said the mixes i had heard on that site (that i thought was finnish freeform)
