My friend has just explained me as speaking like "oop norf lyk innit" which sounded really funny, but is partly true. Any more accents and sayings that are funny?

im from up north (lancashire) so my accent is kinda funny to some people!

accents are a strange thing, as a country as small as england (or uk if you like) then we'd all speak the same or similar.

newcastle aint that far from scotland but their accents are different.

I speak with the most boring accent of all, the 'Hampshire' accent! Thats whata teacher as school said I spoke like! Although I live in Dorset, I dont have the country accent that people think everyone from Dorset has! Northen & Scottish accents are good & I love girls with them!

This is summat that always fascinated me, isn't it weird how you adapt to the accent where you are living at the time? And how easily it is to just flip back to your original accent when you have someone speak to you from where you originate? For example...i lived in Wales for 18 years, and picked up the accent during that time, but people i knew from there used to know when i'd phoned home as my accent would have returned to some degree.
