Not very happy about this, Gordon Brown thinks that he will be able to gain a bit of popularity over this time to win the next election! Does he think that will work? After what seems to be going round these days I don't think it is going to work at all! Another 2 years of Labour is going to be shite imo, leaving it to the last possible date isn't going to make Labour any more popular than they are now!

You vote for left wingers because they'll toughen the country up? I think you're confused. And MP's don't get payed that much, you'd get payed about the same amount being a school headmaster.

rubbish, i speak to old foke all the time and they all say they will vote for BNP or another left wing party because this country is soft on crime and upbringing etc.

90% of who i asked said they should be tougher on discipline in schools, corporate and capital punishment re-introduced (it'll never happen).

Another thing, bring back the identity of this country, only time i see a Union Jack or St.Georges cross around here is when i go past the town hall or a BNP supporters house on a scruffy council estate!

And because there is no chance of a left wing influence on this country, my current votes go to the conservatives!

He's a Tory - in fact he is the leader of the Tory party..... this worries me Smoogster, after starting a topic declaring your thoughts on the Labour party your not 100% aware of the political views of the Labour Party's biggest threat.

In my mind, unless Gordon Brown pulls off some sort of miracle he won't make it to 2010 - if he doesn't declare an election I think it will end up with hi being ousted by his own party. Economists were predicting black times ahead for the economy thanks to Gordon Brown's policies as Chancellor, now the dark times are closer and its time to see what Mr Brown is made of - it will certainly be interesting to see what he tries to pull off.

The sooner the Tories get back in the better to my mind! George Osbourne would make a fantastic Chancellor and I think Cameron would be a hell of a lot more pro-active than ol' Gordon.

Here in the US right-wing is usually for less government, and left for more, so it makes sense that people would want liberals in office to toughen up some of the laws and regulations. At least that's how it's supposed to work lol. Politics these days...
Not up to snuff on UK politics but from what I've read in this thread, are there more than two parties in the UK that actually have a chance of winning an election? I don't mean shit like the Green Party over here that doesn't even make 1% of the popular vote.
