I don't think it will be dead like someone said... I'm amazed at the up and comming talent. I think Electro is going to have more and more influence in hardcore as time goes by... Is already happening now. Which is a good thing... DJ Kurts seems to be pushing this sound with tracks like Electron... Also a lot more bounce seems to be comming back to hardcore too...

If the right people 'run' the scene then it should be ok but if the mainstream is going at the moment then it could just die out again...

With the way hardcore's going at the moment i very much doubt it will die out anytime soon. More people joining the scene on the mainstream side of things will probably mean more people in turn turning to the underground. Both ends of the scale will benefit and grow. More producers joining will no doubt bring new ideas and a fresh aspect to the music. More albums topping the charts will mean more money for the DJs, Producer, Labels etc involved and will benefit the scene as a whole.
However hardcore being brought more into the mainstream will probably atract a whole load of dickheads ravers and band-wagon jumping producers and companies. But i really don't believe there's any chance whatsoever of hardcore dying out in the near-future.

I hate electro, so I really hope you're wrong!
I don't see any danger of Hardcore dying out anytime soon either. I think Meathead is pretty spot on with what he's saying.

hopefully in the graveyard.
or will it be just another year where Sy is 1 year older and is STILL milking out meaningless bore-core make the scene even more stale than it allready is.
2009, the year where it wouldn't matter if the DJ hit stop on the turntable, the MC would blabber away a typical chavs life (wotsee; "bottle or rush" style) stories out of time because that's all 14 year olds "ravaz" want to hear these days.. the MC.

i'd like to se hardcore, hard dance and hardstyle sort of merge but at hardcore speed as far as the underground aspect of it.
as for the commercial side of hardcore, more trancy hands in the air stuff!

He means there's more electro sounds that are being used in hardcore tracks... there's a bunch of recent al storm tracks, and at least 1 kurt track that makes use of sounds. trance leads get boring... new sounds are required.

But why is it necessary to bring sounds from other styles? Hardcore should have its own unique sound.
