And this has to do with iTunes in what way? I also use a MacBook Pro, but I don't buy off of iTunes.

To be honest im happier with a PC than a Mac... for a few reasons

1. The main argument Mac users bring up when they argue that Macs are better than PCs is that Macs dont get viruses... okay... but i havent had a virus in 5 years since i got antivirus... and pretty much the whole population has antivirus now anyway...

2. Id rather put up with the "threat from viruses" anyway to avoid the lack of compatibility issues Macs have with a lot of software. Last time i checked theres some decent Vsts you can't even get on Mac. Major downer.

3. I'm happy to sticking to what i know, and i know PC's... Why would i really want to change to a Mac and why is a Mac better than a PC?

Answer: They're not. But PC's arent better than Mac's. It comes down to personal preference and it seems that almost every week i get hassled by someone with a mac who believes "omg bro it is like sooooo much better than a PC" even though all they use their computer for is loading internet pages and studying. Woopdeedoo cant really imagine its that different for the small amoutn you use your computer for.

NB: This isnt even going off on a tangent because this "topic" didnt have a topic to begin with. At least, not a conistent one :)

i got a mac pro because i was sick and tired of xp having its period. it was taking over ten minutes to start up. the processor was continually not coping, various anti-virus app's running the processor at 100%.

heard that macs were just much faster and didnt slow down after a year.

Upgrade your CPU? Also depending on the computers specs, it may not be able to handle XP.
Also you only need 1 anti-virus (if you now what you're doing you wont even need that), if anyone has Norton you're an idiot, there are much better anti-viruses out there (for free) that aren't as memory hungry.

Also continuing on 'Macs are more powerful than a PC' no they're not, not at all. Agreed they are more powerful than a £200 PC (which are fully upgradeable) but how much are Macs? Alot. You could build your own PC for that price and get much higher specs and have exactly what you want.

Macs also have very little 3rd party support, and to the average person, won't have a clue as to why some of there software won't install. And afaik, you can't install other OS's on a Mac.

A Mac has a much nicer GUI though. But looks aren't everything.

"Macs are far more powerful then a PC"

It was amusing when it was trotted out in the past, but it's even more amusing now that Macs *ARE* PCs.

Want the equivilant of an 8 core mac? Buy Skulltrail.

You aren't talking about "a" Mac, you're talking about the operating system IE Not the hardware. The hardware is identical to server PC ( Xeon CPU w/ ECC memory ) but in a pretty box and with a huge mark up.

You dont need various anti-viruses - just one.

Your processor is crap if it cant handle XP mate... its not XP its your particular computer... perhaps its time to upgrade coz my computer is OLD (2.0 ghz CPU and 512 MB of ram) and it takes me like 2 or 3 minutes to boot XP.

PCs dont slow down after a year - they slow down because you fill the hard drive, download mroe programs to sun "in the background" and generally tend to test your computer's limits more... The exact same thing is going to happen with your very expensive version of a PC you just bought.

Actually, 360 is made to run on a dual-core machine... since i upgraded, ive never even noticed anything about 360 chewing my CPU.

Totally agree. You can get a PC custom built with extremely good specifications for a FRACTION of a mac's price. Mac's are one of the most overpriced pieces of electronics i have EVER seen. My mate just spent a couple of thousand bucks on a touch screen laptop.. i dont know what it was.. it might have beena mac i dunno... but.. why? because its touch screen? give me a break...

From what ive heard you can, but its a COMPLETE pain in the ass. I swear people have told me about loading windows on a MAC... thats got to be the most useless thing ever... You just wasted excessive money on a pc that isnt a pc... but still is.
