Mouse that comes with a mac, it has 1 button:
Mouse i'm using on my work PC, it has 7 buttons plus scroll, Interchangeable Grips, Adjustable sensitivity (200-3200DPI), Weight tuning system, Custom-color LEDs (so you can indentify the mouse profile youre using and the profiles can be stored in the mouse).

Who knows, Apple & Microsoft maybe struck a deal million of years ago.

Some untruths being perpetuated in this thread. But I don't really give a shit.
The mouse was first used on an Apple machine. And the new ones actually come with 5 buttons. If you don't like that mouse, then use one that is supposed to be for a PC, it will work great. Also, the trackpads for the Apple notebooks are multi-touch, which I must say is sexy and useful.
As for not being able to mod your computer etc. etc. The truth is, you can. And it's easy. I've done it, a lot.
What people don't get is that for years Apple was coming up with awesome ideas but still being shadowed by Microsoft in the market for software and consequently by PC manufacturers in hardware. They always are trying to make themselves stand out and be different so they can appeal to a consumer that wants to escape the norm.
Now that they have gotten wildly more popular and large, it's starting to look like conforming to non-conformity.

I have nothing against Mac's or Mac users. My father and little sister use them, i even have an old iMac in my storage. What i dont like is the ******** that seem to surround the brand. Apple is not anymore innovative then any other major electronics brand. Mac's are not faster and are not more reliable.
Few points, mouse was not invented by Apple, it was invented by Xerox. Modding, Apple is shit. Its not even trying to be good, so why say its good? Microsoft overshadowed it, cause it made software and let other companys (any company) do the hardware. Compare that to Mac where all hardware comes from Apple. My father needed a USB 2.0 port to hes computer, he had to buy a whole new computer, including display. For a PC he would have needed a 10€ PCI card.

A lot of that isnt just conformity.
Technics Vinyl turntables are technically the best ive ever used, same with pioneer cdj1000s
its got nothing to do with conforming... Ive just found they are more comfortable/easier to use.

The biggest untruth ive seen on this thread so far is that macs are more powerful than PC's.
A few facts.
1. They're not: for the equivalent price of a mac you could get the a custom built PC with MUCH better specifications. Mac's are overpriced - so are some PCs that are pre-built, but as far as i know, you can't get a Mac custom built. = lack of options.
2. Having used itunes (which is one of THE most counter-intuitive programs ive ever used) i can honestly say that the fact that Apple doesnt have a LOT of 3rd party programs makes me want to kill myself - clearly they arent good at creating SIMPLE and INTUITIVE software. If im going to be SET into a choice i want it to be a good one, but in saying that, why be set to a choice when you can get a PC and do what you want?
3. Mac's (technically) arent BETTER for anything. Just like PC's arent BETTER for anything. They're both computers, they both use operating systems that are similar to each other, and Apple certainly doesnt have some secret software developed that the rest of the world doesnt have, they have the same resources.
4. A LOT of software that comes out, you can't get for a MAC - whihc is reason alone enough for me not to get one.
5. Mac's dont get viruses, sure, but if you got a computer thats as new as the mac you want to buy, you wont notice antivirus anyway, and antivirus does a lot more than just protect you against viruses... thats really only one of the many features it does, theres a lot of PC optomization included in antiy-virus software.
6. As mentioned before, Macs have little 3rd party support for hardware. A couple of months ago i bought two monitors for my computer and didnt have Dual VGA slots on my graphics card. I bought a new graphics card. It cost me $30. I plugged it in. Job done. Thats just an example, i know all new computers generally have a DVI and VGA or any combination of these, but if i had an old mac, id have to buy a new one.
Macs just seem far more hassle than what its worth, to me. They don't do anything better and it really limits you to have one, sometimes.

Macs can get viruses, it's just very unlikely. There are far more people who use a Windows based OS, so the people who code the viruses, just make it Windows based. There is a really low percentage of Mac users in the U.S at just around 3%. Macs are generally hard to code for so the virus coders just leave it as it's not worth it.

My OS is more stable than XP. And I like it. I use both. I hate all this anti-Mac wah wah here.
Music production is traditionally on Apple machines because of native MIDI which was rather important when computers weren't as fast. But you know what, **** it. I'm comfortable with my Mac OS and my Apple computer, and I love it! Wouldn't trade it for a PC ever.
