I'm on my way! But it's never gonna be enough if the ONLY place they can hear hardcore is at "raves". Remember, you can't find Hardcore at your local music store over here, and probably few of them own a credit card to buy online :P

I wish Hardcore would play in clubs here in Canada, but that ain't happening soon. Instead, we've got those tiny, crappy so-called raves with 300 underage kids not even knowing what kind of music is playing.

i know what you mean man, thats how the scene is here in AZ, but with 800 underage kids rolling face.

its a sad sight, but no clubs here play hardcore either, electro house is king here

CXH has gotten a bad name cos of 3 i'd say.
It was a really horrible compilation, full of crap tracks.

I haven't heard 1 or 2, but i was really impressed with 4.

I'll probably buy 5, when i hear some clips n that tho and tracklisting.

CXH has gotten a bad name because the whole series has been full of commercialised shit that every 15 year old kid loves.

CXH doesn't even have a bad name. Its a lot more popular than quite a few other Hardcore album series. A handful of HHC.com users doesn't make a reputation.

I'm 25 years old and I buy that "commercialized shit" it has nothing to do with age. I also buy the Hardcure Underground series as well. I try to give all hardcore a chance, rather than be stuck up and call one type of it shit.

And to those that don't hear Hardcore in their place (I think ppl from Canada and US) we don't hear hardcore that much probably because here in North America genres of electronica other than clubby stuff have been put down due to their relationship with drugs. that's y here in Houston, TX there is still a ban on raves. I think one of the good things about the CXH series is that it is easily more acceptable than faster, harder tracks out there. and i kind of see it as being a gateway for people to explore other forms of hardcore, so they can get a proper view of the whole genre and culture

Wow, it was 9 years and 1 day since I realised Hixxy had become complete crap!

Bonkers 6 with Sy, Dougal & Vibes had come along Summer '99 and blown Bonkers 5 well and truly into oblivion. Three decent CDs (yes even Vibes).

Bonkers 7 was coming on October 4th and I could not wait. I really couldn't. Hixxy was back and I figured this should be good (Bonkers 1-5, only one poor-ish mix). What greeted my ears I shall never forget. God awful rubbish. 81 minutes of sub-standard arse-slapping junk.

Fast forward nearly three years and Bonkers 8 comes along. Mmmm I says - maybe this one will be better? Bar Elysium (which was a Scott Brown record) it was complete shit again :(

All I care about is the music. And he ain't producing the good stuff anymore. In fact I listened to Hardcore Heaven 2 where he popped on a 35 min mix. Then I realised. He never did. And to top it off there's scratching on there I swear he had a retard come in and do for him. The Scott Brown mix on that CD is the stuff of legend tho. Wow.

I mind him being interviewed by Brisk & Ham on their radio show - he says if they don't change the artwork I ain't doing Bonkers. If ever there was a way to get rid of the twat that was it. And it worked cos we got Brisk & Ham doing Bonkers instead :)

Bottom line, I won't be buying this pish. The fact that it is advertised with a 'Bonus' Hixxy CD to be honest puts me off. The guys an idiot. He thinks he is bigger than the scene.

I Agree with you 100% on the whole commercialised vs uderground topic! Some people are so stuck up, they won't even give a good listen to the songs/albums before judging and stating their opinion. It's not very pertinent in my opinion, so I try to avoid taking them seriously. It's all just hardcore in the end.

About Hardcore in America, I don't think its really about the drug here in Montreal. Drugs aren't such a big deal here, and there's no special ban for rave events. Maybe it's just a cultural difference... that or the average person is just not fit enough to dance to 180bpm music here in America!! :P

As long as it's hardcore I like it If there was only one way of making hardcore I wouldn't listen to it. Commercialized or not - If I like it I'm going to listen to it whatever all the other twats think.
