james bonds a let down...

its a good film and i really enjoyed it, but it wasnt a james bond movie..

its more like a good american action film..

its missing the jokes, the gadgets, the really obvious enemy (with the eypatch and the plot to destroy the world) and really simple plot!

its a good film but it isnt james bond..

I disagree with you there Trubass, I was relieved @ how good the new Bond film was & i'm so glad they got away from that cheesy bond style which was starting to ruin the direction of the bond films! They were so predictable! Its good to see that they've gone back to basics & started to take things a bit more seriously again. After all, the guy is a spy & Daniel Craig is showing all the old bonds, except Sean Connery, how its done!

starship troopers 3 made me want to burn my eyes out.

its like a bunch of christians got together and thought it would be a great idea to try and convert people through the medium of sci-fi...
..

...just dont.

Not seen anything that's blown me away in a while tbh.

Which part in particular did you find too religious? How using the exact same methods of satire to portray military and religion, and the formar is satire but the latter isnt?

Few points i remember from the movie (may contain SPOILERS):
-The most religious man on the movie was brainwashed by alien bugs.
-The girl saying on the religoius dude "but its the wrong god".
-The woman that was the most sceptic about religion, founds faith because she thought the soldiers that jumped in their marauder power suits from the sky were angels.
-From then the marauders proceed to execute brutally all bugs while the two girls pray in the background (that scene reminded me of the scene in Battle Royale 2, where they shoot each other while Silent Night, Holy Night plays in the background btw, liked the brutal contrast).
-They then implement religion as a military propaganda tool ...and "God is a citizen too".

Seriously, you're not seeing it?

which bit???
because, it wasnt clever or well done the entire thing comes off as christianity-charged nonsense.

there are plenty of other "religious satire" movies out there that do a far better job than this one - which was as pointless as its nude scene

ive changed my mind - everyone should see this movie so they can give their take on it! :D

aparently imdb agrees with me :P
