Tunes from about '96-'99 are what I like to listen to. It's a bit too trancey nowadays, which isn't bad, just not exaztly my cup of tea when it comes to hardcore. I still listen to the new stuff, though, no doubt about that :)

yes, unfortunatly,
imo- all these "new" remixes are useless!!!!! i despise them over and over and over!!!!! All classics being turned into sh1t3!!!??? no thank you, but like was said before many many times- if you dont like it...DONT LISTEN TO IT!!!!! *slaps self on head and sets off on bouncing spree!!!* bounce and sing forever!!
For me, the original classic stuff!!!! like bonkers....the old style but new tunes!!! me happy forever...
freedom to all who believe!!

OLD STUFF...very hard to find but when i do find it i spin it!
Why.... BECUZ it doesnt follow a pattern... OLD SKEWL SHIT is so much more all over the place and insane...take for instance tracks like MOTHER ****ING HARDCORE... and anything from the old dwarf label etc.! They added elements of comedy...and everyone of the records could be counted on not HAVING THE SAME BPM throughout it all.... or even following the same Repetitive "hardcore pattern" we see alot nowadays! It was alot more fun to dj those trax than it is nowadays... u could trick and sample w/more shit then u can now! But i do enjoy new stuff :-P

I know they say hardcore is easier to mix nowadays
but the mixing has lost some of its charm
beat mixing before was harder and needed more skill (so i'm not moaning about that)
but remember how most olds tunes had little vocal samples which you could use to mix instead of beat mixing.
ya know like the "come on dance with me" sample in the original hhc version of it's hard for me to say im sorry.

To me Old Skool is anything pre 1994, anything after that is Happyhardcore.

Ive been listening to Hardcore since the start and Ive always listened to the new stuff because I always see it as going forward and progressing. Thats probably why I prefer the new stuff to the old. A lot of the old stuff from 96 & 97 I try and listen to every now and then but I listen to as much new stuff as I can coz I love it loads! Thats why all the new stuff that is being released at the minute I dont stop going on about it to every1 I talk to. Its fantastic stuff and long may we be able to rave to it! Hardcore 4eva!
