i think that to some people it would be a rave and obviously to others its not. Like if you 15 years old your not old enough to get in to big events so if they went to the clubland events they would see it as a rave. But to people that have gone to big events its going to seem like a concert for kids. Ibviously a 15 year olds gona wana tell everyone its a rave, rave to alot of people is just flourecent clothes and loud music :
:)
just adding my bit :P
ya what lol i know bare people who started raving 'at big raves' when they were 15 some even 12 so. look at Dougal when he started DJing at raves he wasnt even old enough to legally be there.
I know alota people that get id'd at events as well and then dont get in, spose it depends on who ya know, but the article sed all the people at clubland were teenagers il bet if you asked any of them they would probs say its a rave.

its alot easier to get into a rave then a night club. at Club Kinetic in Stoke the door policy was if ya off ya face then ya coming in :o) most Clubland goers properly think that Clubland is a rave but it aint.

from dictionary.com rave noun 1. a dance party that lasts all night and electronically synthesized music is played; "raves are very popular in Berlin" as much as you might not like the idea of the clubland tour, tell me where it doesnt fit in the definition

That's not all that makes a rave though.
Most clubs play electronically synthesized music all night. Music like RnB can be electronically synthesized music.
According to that definition the RnB club in (insert town centre) is a rave. It most certainly isn't.
Fail basically.

Taken from the Oxford English Dictionary
Adj. Excessively concerned with minor details or rules..... Oh wait that's pedantic. Silly me

Could apply to either of us here. :D It certainly applies to me 90% of the time.
Right, I'll get anal on your arse then (I'll also give a detailed description).
A rave is free for anyone to attend for starters. They're unlicensed (and usually illegal). You can leave and come back as you see fit. You can do what you want there as long as it doesn't effect other ravers negatively (or the police have turned up). Mainly underground dance music will be played. A rave has no official start/end time. Most of the time the police will shut down raves at any opportunity they can (see the criminal justice and public order act 1994). You would get lynched if you put cheesy, commercial clubland tunes on at a rave.
Even things like Slammin and Helter Skelter aren't proper raves (Helter Skelter was a proper rave back in the day before going "legit"). they're often refered to as a "legal rave". A legal rave is not a proper rave. If a legal rave promoter puts a night on in a club it's just a club night.
The words "rave" and "raver" get thrown around a lot but they're nearly always used out of context. You're not a "raver" because you listen to a certain type of music and it's not a "rave" just because it's a party that lasts all night playnig electronic music.
