It's a north-american tradition in rave parties, most importantly Happy Hardcore parties, back in the late 90's and early 00's. People make kiddy-like bracelets and necklaces, wear them all over their arms and necks, and exchange them to one another. It's a way to express happiness (natural or chemical) and unity amongst the raver community.
Unfortunately, the tradition has slowly died and I haven't seen it since 2006.
Still around, just not so prevalent in Montreal.

i loved D-minus' track selection though, he really was a favourite.
i just enjoyed the overall experience back then, and i can blame it fully for my interest in DJing today.

Hey I'm so glad to hear Kandy is not all completely gone! I would love to part take in a seriously kandy event again sometimes, but I don't think that's gonna happen here in Montreal. I was naive to think It died all together with Hullabaloo though.
D-Minus is one of my first main influences when it comes to Happy Hardcore! His demo mixes Goes Bananas and Definition of a pretty boy where very very good, but I don't remember his on stage performances :(

This makes me wanna throw one in Ottawa. I'm throwing SOME kind of party in 2008, probably July. I've never done an all out kandy party so it's tempting.
Ottawaballoo?

I think it's still before July in Canada.

there's a time warp when you cross the border. they only stop you to ask questions to distract you from what really is happening.

what is really happening at the border!!?!
an all kandi party would be intense, but they never seem to take off the way they are intended.
it's been attempted in toronto a few times since hulla's demise, but only about a third of the people attending participate in the kandi trading and stuff.
