You know that feeling you get when so many bad things are going on at once, and it seems like forever since you've had any good news, or been really happy?

I feel exactly like that right now. I just want to turn my phone off, go rent a beach house for a few weeks, and not have any contact with anyone i know just to clear my head of EVERYTHING.

Has anyone ever done this kind of thing before? Does it work? I've tried clearing my head but its like as soon as i start to get somewhere i'm interrupted....

Any suggestions?

Going for a drive usually helps me clear my head and have a think about things. Clear it enough to make some clear decisions about what the best thing you can do to rectify the situation is and then stick to that decision.

Usually the best way to deal with something though is to tackle it head on otherwise you do end up in the position your finding yourself now. Not always easy and/or possible though.

Usually talking about your problems to people you trust will help, but if you go away from your problems you're gonna end up coming back to them at one point.

becoming a social recluse won't fix it, buddy.

it's christmas, go volunteer at a homeless shelter or something.

helping out other people, friends or otherwise, always make me feel much better about my situation.

try to think about what you have going for you instead of what you have going against you.

you ain't in a wheelchair from what i can see, you're a talented producer... you're still walking and breathing on your own and you're not eating dirt or bathing/shitting in the same water you drink from, so i'd say things are going pretty well for ya.

I've felt like that so many times. Nothing you can do about it really - you can't run away from your problems. It will get better I promise, life has this thing where it tries to test you to your very limits every now and then...shit hey.

Yea, happens very often to me. As already said, you shouldn't run away from your probs, that's not a solution. I thought like that too. But now I know that this is the wrong way. If you need help, ask people if they can help you. If there's something you need to talk about, talk about it with someone. You have your friends, and you have us ;). The happyhardcore.com community. Always here for everything and anything, is that right guys ? :)

The best advice I ever got when everything had turned to crap

was something I read.

The last words of Buddha to his disciples -

"Walk On".

Read a book called

'Tomorrow - Adventures in an Uncertain World' by Bradley Trevor Greive

Its a little picture book thing and its the best thing I have ever read. After going through it, really puts everything in perspective... Its awesome...

It's on google books as well to buy, dont read the preview on google books as its only the first 20 pages and it spoils it. You need to read the whole thing... Well worth the buy in hard cover, you wont be dissapointed

And I usually dont like books!

yeh mate it works a treat.

but wouldnt go away for few weeks. maybe a long weekend, week at most. just chill, go fishing, catch squid cook squid whatever, or with a small handful of mates 5 or so. really does wonders. its a bit pissy for few days when you get back, but helps you stay sane for another 10 weeks or so.

going for a drive is also a good way to clear your head. a good drive i know is.
enter royal national park at sutherland
travel through to helensburgh.follow princes highway down to dapto/albion park
go up maquarie pass.
at the top of maquarie pass turn left to go down jamberoo mountain rd - comes out at kiama
drive south through berry (stopping to get some doughnuts - they're beaut) onto the first roundabout at bombaderry.
turn right at roundabbout up kangaroo valley rd i think its called. follow all the way through to bowral and mittagong/moss vale (which ever one it is)
come back along hume highway.
good for 6+ hours.

or another good one which is up your way is putty rd up to singleton. bout 4-5 hours return, have lunch at the pub halfway ;)

take care mate
