I live near Preston and am familiar with 53 degrees but have never heard of hardcore being played there ever, may have to do some research and get to the next event there, doesn't sound good with the DJs though.

oh dear, surely theres some way to charge promoters for this kind of management!?!

I'm not familiar with the ins & outs of events but surely thats classed as false advertisement & people are paying for one thing & getting the complete opposite!

Has anyone got any info about this sort of thing?

Im sorry to hear that they didn't turn up! I belive that in the 90s Lancashire had a thriving scene & as my Grandad came from Blackpool, Lancs is in my blood & I belive Preston itself had a good scene just over 10 years ago!

Sadly these so called big names should no longer be big names, if they don't turn up (thats if they were booked in the first place)

I agree with what you said, there will be plenty of dedicated (and also good) DJs who would do anything to play at these events but get ignored because someone who has been in the scene for 15 years is booked (and then don't show up) These bigs names are doing nothing for the scene! Time for them to stand down & let the new comers & real dedicated DJs (who play real Hardcore, not boring popcore) take over!

New Hardcore track in the works...

Tbh i doubt the majority of people were even theyre for the hardcore...I listened to the last bounce heaven/vibealite event on Krafty and iv never seen krafty chat so full of bounce head's (Or dick heads as i like to call them ;)) and the bounce crowd was so much louder than the hardcore.

Its still a terrible thing though, happened at uproar in the dam aswell apparently a shitload of top teir didnt turn up for that aswell but they played elsewhere on the night. I also heard a rumour that one dj got on the boat went to amsterdam got off his face on mushrooms and didnt bother coming back on the boat and therefore didnt play a set for the entire thing...But you know what rumours are like, its probably all ********.

Not the first time Hardcore has been played there - however I have managed to miss every one lol

Physx - where do you travel from if you are at uni in Preston? Thought all the students lived in town

as long as were talking about event horror stories....
earlier this year at etd.POP, a HUGE lineup of djs from trance, electro, hardcore, and dnb were all shut down because the event got drug busted by the cops. they literally shut off the power for the whole building.
most people were pissed cuz they were in the trance room, and tiesto got shut off mid set.

hahaha! reminds me of my old raving days, that's y i'm laughing. but yea that does suk man after they kind of banned raves, they did that everywhere here in Houston. so many clubs (even non-electronic music clubs) were gettin busted for X. it is such a shame, as that basically killed the electronic scene here.

my question is however, if all of the big names didn't show up, how come the promoter didn't fill out the timeslots accordingly, rather than having two tag sets and lou lou playing for fifteen minutes? if it were a fix, wouldn't you think that the timeslots would have been filled by the hour rather than how you described?
