hahahaha, 7 year bump from the dead.
i started on uk hardcore and heard the makina, and...... well... im all makina now. hahaha.
though, the sound has definitely changed within the past 7 years... since this thread started.
and that "last night" track is played here. at 0:58.
the thing i like about makina is the mixing style, 3 turntables or more, it seems more fun/things to do. though i have to admit if i were to think about how it sounds, it is annoying the base tracks. i love the melodies they create and the speed, and chipmunk voice, hahaha. people would say this full of "cheese" or somethin, dont understand what is considered "cheese" fully yet.
some dislike the direction makina is going because it is straying from the "bouncy" style and into a more harder makina. the old makina is called "makina remember" but the current makina is growing on me and i seem to like it better. i have started a english makina blog as well to bring release updates about makina since there is no english blog out there, if you'd like to know pm me for link.

If its the stuff thats on the first link then i'm one of them :P Makina to me has always been these epic anthems about heroes and heroines. I can picture myself flying really fast low orbit when i'm listening some of the stuff :D The mixing is something that can sound really aweseome, like nothing else. Or it can sound compleatly shit and ruin perfectly good tunes.

I mix makina sometimes. 3 decks, lots of layering and cutting. It's very fun to mix.
I only like the melodic stuff though, I'm not a big fan of most of what you posted. The Ruboy stuff is awesome, as well as some of the Pastis & Buenri, Xque stuff...
But you linked "Sweet Revenge". I think the makina version is pretty weak compared to the Scott Brown remix (which is closer to uk hardcore style).
And I think that goes for alot... the quality of makina production is like 5 years behind so it never really impresses me.

I believe when a friend showed me this video is when I found out about the makina mixing style.
I guess it's when you first start listening to makina, I started right at the border when the transition to harder makina began. I ordered shipment of makina records two days ago, can't wait to spin them, havn't practiced spinning makina yet hopefully I can do it.
And, yea, Pastis & Buenri are like legends, I look up to them! hahaha. I actually prefer the makina version of sweet revenge... hahaha, though Scott Brown's is just as good.
I'm picking up some spanish too cause of this genre, hahaha.

Scott Brown's version is unoriginal and boring. If thats what 5 years ahead on production quality means, i hope Makina never takes that step forward. Its enough that UK Hardcore is ruined :P
