I actually prefer the makina version of sweet revenge... hahaha, though Scott Brown's is just as good.
Scott Brown's version is unoriginal and boring. If thats what 5 years ahead on production quality means, i hope Makina never takes that step forward. Its enough that UK Hardcore is ruined :P
It doesn't sound very modern tbh, it's just far more musical, and everything so much better executed.

I've heard Scott's version before, and after hearing the Pont Aeri version I'd have to say it blows Scott's out of the water.
Brb, finding out where PA's store is...

just heard both versions on youtube. wow scott brown's version really is painful and depressing to listen to. the makina version is MUCH better! and i pesonally like makina a lot, i just don't know what good compilations of it are out there. good thing bout it is that it still has hints of the positive, cheesy sounds that ppl once loved during the happy hardcore era. how i miss a lot of that style

When i used to buy more CD's, i just went to the French Amazon, typed Makina pont aeri or whatever and bought what they had :D These days their selection has gotten better though, and they have clips on some CD's.

Oh, you don't like it cause it's not a happy chord progression... Well, that's fine I guess. I like sad/emotional music.

not necessarily. I like the sad/emotional songs too. really liked goodbye my friend from scott brown, it's just that this track i think wasn't meant to be all sad-sounding. i really think it deserved more energy than it got

In makina... there's a "base" track and a "melody" track.
base + melody = makina!!!
I think you have the wrong idea on how it's done, or not. It's not just throwing the base track in anywhere, you have to match the break up with the melody break and make sure their structures match up... breakdown with breakdown... etc...
