well with the whole fruity loops vst problem, all you would need to do is make a group folder that would go into everyones vst folder, which would be ( :\Program Files\VstPlugins), and for all the drum samples make one more folder (i.e on the desktop) and put all the kicks. hats claps....ect in it, then to send it make it a zip (so more people could open it) and have everyone save there version in the folder on the d/t.
also with the vst thing in fl you can put the vst's in the same folder as the samples, all you would do is search for them fl.
im pretty sure the reason why people have trouble sending the .flp files (fruity loops files) to people is that they are trying to open a file from different versions of fl
thats my 2 cents
just remember i said it should work, im not 100% sure but im close lol
if you guys need help with the whole sending .flp files pm me and i might be able to help
edit: on spelling and fix one thing

There wouldn't be any problems at all.
Rules I'm suggesting:
1) Everyone would need to have FL8 to participate - that way all the plugins are compatible and projects can easily go back and forth between members
2) VST plugins used would be standard FL plugins or FREE plugins. If a member uses a plugin which is NOT included in FL, they must provide an installation file for it and include it in the zip file. Plugins must be free and NOT pirated.
3) Projects would always be saved as zipped loop files so that they include all required samples.
4) The most experienced producer(s) should be the last to touch the project.
5) Silver should sign and release the track if it's good enough, and commission an Orbit1 remix
:D
(the last one is a bit of a joke but it would be nice)

how about we make 3 differents groups, each one using a different software, cubase, FL and reason.
this way we would have 3 songs, like a single
???

I don't usually use that many free VSTis but these are pretty good:

Tbh, one of the challenges will definitely be sticking to free stuff. It's not always easy to get phat sounds out of free shit, esp. if you can only use free VST effects.
Can you help me Dain-ja?
I've dled these now & would love to start using them on Reason but i'm not sure how to go about it.
Any ideas bud?

How about a little competition?
Team Reason.
Team Fruity
Team Cubase.
same rules as dain-ja stated with these added:
- start at the same time and have the same deadline of 3(?) months.
- limit of 6 members on each team
- the track that gets best noticed by the entire hardcore community wins (including beyond hhc.com)
or points?
- 10 points if you complete it ;)
- 10 points if it gets onto a label ;)
- 2 points for every sale it gets on the label
- 1 point for every download (free) it gets
- 10 points if it gets remixed (10 per remix)
- 5 points if its played at a live set
- 2 points if its played in a live radio set
- 1 point if its played in a recorded set
.. um yeah :P

You've just discovered Reason's biggest flaw. It has no VST support. You can't use any plugins that aren't bundled with Reason.
:(
So...You won't be able to use those VSTs unless you ReWire Reason into Cubase.

How do I update from FL7 to FL8? The FL shop shows that you have to pay for everything. Have you got a link to this free upgrade?

That's an issue? Why do we have to constrain ourselves? As long as it's hardcore I don't care what style it is.

Mine is a boxed version, so I have to pay $29 for the update :( Oh well. I might not bother. FL7 is fine for me at the moment, I was thinking of getting fl8 xxl at somepoint so rather than update Ill probably just get that, or even cubase.
