I can't do that.
I have a wide range of different things I listen to in the Electronica area, from Techno to Drum n' Bass. I listen to almost everything, because each genre will have something I will want to listen to.
Depending on the mood I'm in.

my music tastes really haven't changed in the last 7-8 years, genre or electronica subgenre. dedicated myself to only hardcore about 5 years ago when i found this website.
as far as genre in general, i grew up listening to the 80s and regional mexican because of my family. then listened to the rest of spanish then rap/hiphop for a short time, then pop/rock mainstream and then dedicated my preference to electronica in 1999

I've been almost completely hardcore for about a year now. For a while there I was really into goa trance, ambient, and breakbeat (and a few others). Almost my entire life my favorite genre has been electronica.

i guess i am a bit of a minority here. see, i like my hardcore like the next guy however i more or less view my records as tools for building a set and peaking out a party. i stopped listening to them ages ago for listening pleasure, and normally only listen to them when i am practicing (every day) or shopping for new records (or used) which is weekly.
other than that i don't listen to hardcore or happy hardcore.
i do enjoy listening to mixes however.
but listening to single tracks is boring to me because of how i use them to layer, and it's just too "structure" for just sitting down to listen because with exception of the "song" elements, every track is exactly the same.

That makes sense TypeR. Most of us here consider listenin 2 hardcore as a hobby, no matter how passionately we like it it's still a hobby. you, on the other hand, this is ur profession. so it would make sense that you don't make time to casually listen 2 tracks because you are basically working when listenin 2 the tracks. so it's all good as long as u r still there 4 the scene

^^ not to mention i've heard the tracks a million times
however, there are some tracks that give me the chills and that i adore to death like:
Rushour [vinylgroover mix]
Hardcore Fever by Dj Energy [original]
Funfair by force and styles [ham remix]
and Follow the Sun by Triple J [90 in the shade remix]
i can listen to those songs any time
i have rushour, and hardcore fever as ringtones on my cell phone too so when people want to know what type of music i play i can just play them the ringtones rather than try to explain it lol

Why? There are millions of great tunes outside of hardcore, and I give everything a chance. Hell, where do you think hardcore is influenced from? I can tell you it's not just other hardcore

seriously? ... a hobby?
stamp collecting is a hobby...
i listen to hardcore because i enjoy it, and if i feel like something else..i'll put something else on....be it Trance, Drum n Bass, Chillout/Ambient, Rock, Hardstyle, Speed Garage, Jazz, Acid House, Classical....House...
that was the only thing that sucked about living in the USA - you cant hear Dance anywhere....walk into a subway and they're pumpin some rock or country generic stuff the radio's all play the same stuff only differing between levels of how hard the rock, rap or RnB they are playing.
and everybody seemed to have it drummed into their head that all dance music is called "techno" which was a headache unto itself...
i mean seriously...how much dance music is out there....so freekin much...and they're off in there own world of media fed music
and thats the only bad thing i can say about the states.
what was the subject of this thread again?!?! lol

top 40 dance music.
also, every day at 5pm is the drive at five mix.
on friday nights until 4am local djs play
saturday from 9 until 4 am local djs play
on wednesday night is nocturnal trancemission where there is a few hours of trance mixed by a local dj named dj tamm.
they play dance music
i've played on it twice. i don't hear you blowing up radio1 afterall, at least i've played hardcore on a u.s. radio station that actually plays on a radio in your car versus an online "radio" station.
but i'm sure through your brief research you already knew all of that stuff.
*cough*
you edited before i did. i don't mean any offense by what i'm saying, just showing that if i'm djing on the station then i'm pretty sure they are playing dance music.

it's top 40 dance music.
not like tiesto or anything off of tidy trax.
it's commercial dance music. but after hours local djs will spin.
