the first thing you must learn.

is ALL the lyrics to Gunthers "ding dong song"

once you have that down, the rest is easy :)

you should try learning something more useful like spanish, french, cnatonese/mandarin, or even vietnamese. you'll lose it if you don't practice it every day, or have someone to speak it with on a regular basis. that's what happened to me with french, so go with spanish instead!

Learn whatever language interests you, and learn as many as you can.

i speak swedish, it's a pretty good language to know. my dad only ever speaks swedish to me and my mum speaks english so i grew up learning both. a good way to learn is to get a few swedish movies or tv shows and watch them with the subtitles on, that helped me allot and that's how my mum learnt swedish. there are allot of good swedish movies and tv shows out there too so it dosn't seem like a chore

i have polish and dutch friends (offline) so i know all sorts of bits and pieces

funny really, because i did 3 years of french in school, and i can barely count to 20
but I can count to 100 in dutch (fluently, at the same speed as i speak english), and overall i only spent 4 weeks there spread over 4 years of family holidays

i probably know about as much dutch/polish/french as i need to get myself killed in another country lol

I too would love to learn Swedish - i attempted to learn to count to 10 in Finnish, and failed quite miserably.

...And i'd only had 2 drinks!!

Swedish isn't that hard to learn, the grammar isnt that much different from english, compared to that of danish and german
